So does one person play as the boy and the other as the girl? If they wanted realism, they should have added that. Suppose the girl says yes - actually you know, fuck this game, just have them have a real confrontation.

being developed with taxpayer money
[sarcasm]Such a good use of public funds[/sarcasm]

$434,000 is a lot of money to spend on a game which will have the exact same results as a 4th grade sex ed class...

Peer presure does far more good than bad and its Fox News reporting this which is hilarious. Can you actually imagine anyone buying this in a shop? NO.

AI: "HELLO YOUNG SUPPLE FEMALE! WOULD YOU LIKE TO ENGAGE IN SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH ME?"
Player: "ummm...yes?"
AI: "WRONG ANSWER: GAME OVER."
Honestly though, have you ever tried _talking_ to your kids about this, America?
EDIT: Oh, and for god's sake, drop the abstinence-only education. It's not working, and it never will.

yeah all of about three people will play this.....nobody will want to play agame that they know will teach them a lesson...maybe if it was made like a horror game....maybe silent hill esque
...This could work.

Maria: See? *caresses James' face* I'm real...

The game freezes in place, and a text-box window suddenly appears.

Choice A: Succomb to Maria's flirtations; find a relatively clean room
Choice B: Mary!

*pause*

You chose Choice B

James: No! I have to find my wife!

*BLIP*

points for most awesome thing i have ever seen....but still i could see where making it a kind of horror game could work still

I'm sorry, I couldn't hear you over the sound of how ridiculous this will be... Really? Games are made to be fun. Here's an idea, instead of buying a young lady this waste of tax payer dollars, teach them about safe sex.

Basically, yeah. This is just a silly project that will never work.

Well, the premise sounds unbelievably boring .. this might work but someone'll have their work cut out

The University of Central Florida is currently working on a game designed to teach pre-teen girls about how to resist getting into sexual situations due to peer pressure.
!

You sure you mean "pre-teen"? As that's like... 12 and under. If Florida girls THAT young need edutainment video games to avoid getting pressured into sex, that means only one thing:

Do people even talk to girls about these things?
Evidently not, because this sure as hell wouldn't cause me to be able to say 'no'. not to say that i'd say yes all the time, but most girls aren't too interested in games, especially pre-teen girls...

Yeah, the game's being created for middle school girls, apparently. Apparently sex is really common at that age... I just took the road less traveled and decided to be a nerd/get my butt kicked instead.

We need a game to teach people to say "no"?
Just show them some slides of what a bad std can look like.
