I feel we need more games set in the Stone Age.

Their are lots of games with Dinosuars and such, but how many of them u get to be a caveman? The weel can be your first car.

The dialog might be a bit lacking though...

What about the 7 Years War? It was a pretty big war and it ended up with Great Britain being the victor and subsequently their rule on almost the entire world. the sun never sets on the British Empire correct?

The Thirty Years war.

It's similar to WW1 in terms of being a horrible European War that people would rather forget ever happened more than anything else. Even so, its a potentially great setting for a conflict. Oh, and musketeers are shiny.

Can we get some more of Alexander's conquests?

Actually, that just gave me an idea.

Alexander: Total War.

Hell yeah.

The Stone Age. I want to be a cave man battling dinosaurs with a gorilla side-kick. Make it happen, someone!

The Winter War - game developers seem to love making games about killing Russians, so why haven't they touched on this period in history? The Soviets, considering their overwhelming advantages in both men and supplies, got their asses handed to them in that war - by the fucking Finnish, of all people.

Poor World War 1, always having the spotlight stolen by its younger brother...
Yeah but World War 1 would consist entirely of sitting in a trench for 3 months and then, once you've been given the order to finally take the enemy trench, you get shot to hell and die slowly and painfully while you see all your friends dying around you. Sounds great, when will it be released?

World War 1, the Boer War, the Spanish Civil War...

... are any of these covered in FPS or strategy form? I mean, these wars in particular. Maybe, for instance, have an alt-history one where you could fight as the socialists and beat the nationalists and Franco in Spain.

Or end the Great War in the first year and actually have everyone home for Christmas.

French and Indian wars are also under-utilized, though kinda hard to use. I also haven't seen one for the Korean war; the last stand-up knock-down fight of the 20th century.

I don't think you could get a GOOD FPS out of Vietnam though.

The Jacobite Rebellion of 1745... you could start off taking pot shots as the English with your flintlock musket, then close the range to hack them apart with broadsword and targe... on second thought, the English artillery would make this less enjoyable...

The Civil War, World War ONE, maybe an ancient Egyptian setting, OHH a game set in the Revolutionary War.
Outside of the RTS genre I can name but a single game that even takes a passing look at these settings. You know what I'd love? To see the next Oblivion-esque game to take place in a desert with some Egyptian based weapons and Anubis warriors, NOT another forest filled Europe-alike filled with the same damn broad sword I've used in the last 6 RPGs.

*EDIT* Ohh and I'm sure someone else has said this, but Vietnam needs another try in Video Game format. If done right that could be a HUGE step forward.
