Update: Sony Abandons The Last Guardian Trademark

Don't you dare kill off The Last Guardian. I'd hate for a Team Ico game of all things to die out on us.

Remember a few weeks ago when Sony released monumental losses in their profits? THIS is why.

It's pretty much official to me. Sony doesn't WANT to be successful. They have an AVERSION to making PILES and PILES of money.

I first began to suspect this when they refused to remake Final Fantasy VII even though everyone was clamoring and salivating for an updated version. Even though they've pretty much remastered and updated every other Final Fantasy. Even though they made an unwanted sequel to a Final Fantasy it appeared that NOBODY liked.

Then came the frustratingly long wait for a sequel to Kingdom Hearts. Again.. money was waiting to be shoved into their accounts. Sony decided it didn't like money yet again.

Then the PSP Go. Enough said.

Now we're being told that The Last Guardian is cancelled?! I suppose that Studio Gibli title will be next? No WONDER everyone is jumping ship while Sony decides to force feed us yet another Uncharted Game, Resistance, and more God of War.

I'm done with Sony. I've defended them, I've made excuses for them, but yeah.. not any more.

Time to look to the future of gaming with the Xbox, Wii U, and PC resurgence.
Sony has convinced me they don't want my money, and I'm more than happy to oblige them.

You do know that Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts are both owned and run by Square Enix, not Sony, right? Sony has absolutely no control or sway over what they decide to do with their IPs.

You know, if they had an aversion to money like you claim, they wouldn't be making Uncharted, Resistance and God of War. Those are the things that get them the most money. Just because you don't like them doesn't mean it's not a license to print money.

Also Sony doesn't make Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, that's Square Enix. Be angry at them, not Sony.

Even if it was abandoned then it could be for a variety of reasons, such as the team decided to name the game something else. It's still coming out, probably. It will also be terrible, probably. It's a game about baby sitting an NPC. Think of one such game that doesn't suck.

Nevertheless, I'll buy it anyway. Just to support the studio.
