That ain't good for a game that was supposed to be a PS3 exclusive at first. Good thing my eyes or set on other things or this might have fried my PS3 Phat, a console that I would not part with for a slim.

Really? I didn't even know something like that was possible.
One might argue against the PC platform; It is not possible to do any damage on my hardware due to overheating. No matter how bad any firmware or any other software is made.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of LA... Noire
And there's ANOTHER reason not to by a PS3
...Did you not read the article? It's happening on the X360 as well.
Yeah, but it's still true.
Pfft. When I get my paycheck tomorrow, I'm trading in my 360 and all the games I have for it to get a PS3.

The PS3 has way better games, and the PSN is free. Have to pay like freakin' $100 a year for Live. Screw that.
Just out of curiosity, how financially profitable is it to trade in a collection and a console for another console?

Also, the media player of the PS3 is terrific as well. In case you plan to use the PS3 as that in addition to using it as a console, I'd recommend you to get a PS3 remote as well, if you find a good price. I got mine for an excellent price, but I got lucky :p

Have fun tomorrow! ^^
Not very! The Xbox itself only gives about $40.

To be totally honest, though...I don't care for the 360 exclusives, and it seems like every game is made specifically for multiplayer nowadays. (Which really sucks because I don't have Xbox Live and don't want to pay out the ass for it, so I can't get DLC or anything, either.)

All of the games I want are...well...PS3 exclusive. Time Crisis: Razing Storm, Cross Edge, inFamous (Getting it for free! Woo!), inFamous 2, Disgaea 3/4, Motor Storm Apocolypse...the list goes on and on.

Ugh. Gaming news sucks lately. Any good news? Like...

"Mass Effect 3 to revive dead consoles, and heal all corrupted save files."

"Players of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim have begun to learn new languages overnight. And even more than that, they know Kung Fu."

But if so, then it's also a reason not to buy an Xbox. You do see that conclusion is to be found based on your own logic, don't you? If so, why'd you'd limit your conclusion to only the PS3? That wasn't very bright of you, was it?
It's not about being bright, it's about being selective. I just chose to comment on the PS3's failure, just like the title of the article.
You're not doing much to dispel the "not bright" conclusion. The title of the article ("Sony: L.A. Noire Overheating PS3 Consoles, Not Firmware") makes clear that in Sony's opinion the overheating is attributable to the game, not the console. Did you misread the title? And the article itself and the link to its original source make even more clear that the fault is the game's, not the console's. Did you read any of that material before posting? If you did, did you also misinterpret that material?

Knock on wood, hasn't happened on my fat PS3 yet. Though I have noticed other games and LA Noire getting choppy since the update... hmmmm

Considering how buggy Red Dead Redemption is, this shouldn't surprise me. It's like Rockstar is trying succeed Crytek in overdoing it, only doing it wrong.

And this far in and not one CSI Miami reference. Where's the love?

Do you think you're getting inFamous as part of Sony's "Welcome Back" offer? If you are, I hate to break the bad news to ya: that offer is only for those who were signed up before the outage. If you weren't signed up before the outage, then you gets nada . . . nada damn thing.

Edit: Admittedly, I like the 360 controllers much, MUCH better than the PS3's.

You know what? I'm glad I own both consoles. I don't have to engage in this sort of petty fanboy silliness. I get to play great PS3 exclusives and watch Blu-Ray movies, AND I get to enjoy 360 exclusives and a better online infrastructure and more streamlined experience with Xbox Live. Yeah, PSN is free, but a free hunk of crap is still a hunk of crap. I'm willing to pay for a better experience.

My point is that each system has its merits, and that it's always going to come down to personal preference. I prefer the 360, but I'm happy to have both.

...And? It's a "Welcome Back" offer. If you signed up for PSN -after- the outage, you weren't at all inconvenienced. It's not about giving new customers stuff, it's about apologizing to previous ones who may not return.

I have a pre-existing PSN account because I've used it to buy games for my PSP for the past two years or so. I've been wanting to buy ZHP, but couldn't. WHY IS THE WORLD SO CRUEL?

Wow, I bought my copy of Noire on launch day but didn't start playing it because my family is flying in for the weekend. Guess I made a smart move there. Hopefully this'll all be sorted out by the time they leave on Monday, cuz I WANTS TO PLAY!!
