This times a thousand.

It surely tells a lot about a writer by how can he open a dictionary and scramble the sentences. NOT!

Actually I used to write News for other sites and my own, amoung which was one with over 80000 active forum members. So I actually am in a position from which I can judge. I'm not assuming that it isn't difficult to re-write a news, I know that it isn't difficult.
I'd be interested in reading some of your work, could you provide a link?

Hey, look, you stole my post.

... though with Daystar to compete with, I doubt that my own application will hold any sort of merit.

...an extremely talented, insightful writer...
I'm sorry but that is not how I would describe the abilities of the news writers here.

Also, considering how about a year ago you couldn't pay contributers yet now suddenly have cash for a expo I can't help but wonder if I would actually ever see any cash.
We didn't announce the Expo until we had secured partnerships and sponsorships that could fund it. We've wanted to do an Expo for years, but it wasn't until we got that funding that it could happen. The money for Expo isn't coming out of our pocket and in no way would impact contributor wages.
wow Susan Arendt...HI!...please dont modwrath me

OT: this will be cool, i love fake news

You are free to consider the news here difficult to write. I disagree.
You are free to disagree, but I just wanted you to know that you're in fact disagreeing with almost every professional writer on the planet. Rewrites are not easy. If you think so, you're either doing it wrong or you have savant-like writing abilities.
I appreciate healthy debate as much as the next girl, but this thread isn't really the most appropriate place to be discussing greater aspects of writing theory or practice.
ALL HAIL SUSAN! QUEEN OF...US!

No, seriously. I was just thinking that. And with all due respect, that guy just doesn't know when to shut up. A good debate is fun, sure. But this is not a debate. This is just one guy disagreeing with everyone and repeating himself over and over again. A losing battle. His opinions are respected and whatever but...come ON! Give it a rest, guy! What are you getting at anyway?!

Also, I've sent my application. *Goes hide in a dark corner*

You guys say that like I'm some sort of writing juggernaut.

I don't think I'm as awesome as you guys think I am...

I sincerly doubt that you read german Grey. Even if you did, the site doesn't exist anymore and even if it did it would be against the code of conduct for me to link it because it dealt in part with piracy. If you want to read something I wrote, wait a few weeks, like I said, I'll be sending something in, just not news.
I'm sure you still have the files, though. You could just copy/paste the text and PM it to Grey. Easy way around the "piracy" rule, though naturally the German might still be problematic.

My friend is excellent at translating German. And I'm sure she'd be pleased to help out such a fine cause.

I chalk it up less to your writing prowess (though you're one of the more coherent posters I've ever seen in a forum) and more to your stunning wit.

Most of your posts make me laugh.

Most of my posts are "grimdark super-serious serious time." Or Buzz Killington moments. Or typing things that people will take out of context and endlessly nitpick.

Or having something that resembles humor fall flat because satire and sarcasm pretty much lose all of their kick over the internet.

Okay, thank you, I appreciate the compliment.

I've found it's just easier to go through life trying to make people laugh, rather than take everything seriously.

That has it's own down sides though :D

Do you make a hobby of keeping old MySQL Databases around? I sure don't and even if I did it wouldn't be worth the effort to dig through it just to prove a point. I'm sure he can wait.
No, but I have plenty of writing samples lying around - even ones from a now-defunct site.

Could it have something to do with you being a professional writer? I'm not a writer, I have no reason to keep things around for a writing portfolio. Even if the escapist were to publish the article I intend to send in I wouldn't consider myself a professional writer. Atleast not in any sense beyond "I got payed for this, therefore professional writing."
Actually, the samples I'm referring to are from when I was doing this as a volunteer, for fun. I've never considered myself a professional writer.
