It surely tells a lot about a writer by how can he open a dictionary and scramble the sentences. NOT!

I'd be interested in reading some of your work, could you provide a link?Monoochrom said:Actually I used to write News for other sites and my own, amoung which was one with over 80000 active forum members. So I actually am in a position from which I can judge. I'm not assuming that it isn't difficult to re-write a news, I know that it isn't difficult.
Daystar?!? You have sent in an application?!?Daystar Clarion said:Applied.

wow Susan Arendt...HI!...please dont modwrath meSusan Arendt said:We didn't announce the Expo until we had secured partnerships and sponsorships that could fund it. We've wanted to do an Expo for years, but it wasn't until we got that funding that it could happen. The money for Expo isn't coming out of our pocket and in no way would impact contributor wages.Monoochrom said:I'm sorry but that is not how I would describe the abilities of the news writers here....an extremely talented, insightful writer...
Also, considering how about a year ago you couldn't pay contributers yet now suddenly have cash for a expo I can't help but wonder if I would actually ever see any cash.

You guys say that like I'm some sort of writing juggernaut.shrekfan246 said:Hey, look, you stole my post.Daystar Clarion said:Applied.

... though with Daystar to compete with, I doubt that my own application will hold any sort of merit.
I'm sure you still have the files, though. You could just copy/paste the text and PM it to Grey. Easy way around the "piracy" rule, though naturally the German might still be problematic.Monoochrom said:I sincerly doubt that you read german Grey. Even if you did, the site doesn't exist anymore and even if it did it would be against the code of conduct for me to link it because it dealt in part with piracy. If you want to read something I wrote, wait a few weeks, like I said, I'll be sending something in, just not news.Grey Carter said:I'd be interested in reading some of your work, could you provide a link?Monoochrom said:Actually I used to write News for other sites and my own, amoung which was one with over 80000 active forum members. My friend is excellent at translating German. And I'm sure she'd be pleased to help out such a fine cause.Susan Arendt said:I'm sure you still have the files, though. I chalk it up less to your writing prowess (though you're one of the more coherent posters I've ever seen in a forum) and more to your stunning wit.Daystar Clarion said:You guys say that like I'm some sort of writing juggernaut.
I don't think I'm as awesome as you guys think I am...

Most of your posts make me laugh.
Most of my posts are "grimdark super-serious serious time." Or Buzz Killington moments. Or typing things that people will take out of context and endlessly nitpick.
Or having something that resembles humor fall flat because satire and sarcasm pretty much lose all of their kick over the internet.
No, but I have plenty of writing samples lying around - even ones from a now-defunct site.Monoochrom said:Susan Arendt said:I'm sure you still have the files, though. Do you make a hobby of keeping old MySQL Databases around? I sure don't and even if I did it wouldn't be worth the effort to dig through it just to prove a point. I'm sure he can wait.
Actually, the samples I'm referring to are from when I was doing this as a volunteer, for fun. I've never considered myself a professional writer.Monoochrom said:Could it have something to do with you being a professional writer? I'm not a writer, I have no reason to keep things around for a writing portfolio. Even if the escapist were to publish the article I intend to send in I wouldn't consider myself a professional writer. Atleast not in any sense beyond "I got payed for this, therefore professional writing."Susan Arendt said:No, but I have plenty of writing samples lying around - even ones from a now-defunct site.Monoochrom said:Susan Arendt said:I'm sure you still have the files, though.
