Useless Skill

After reading the useless superpower thread, it got me thinking about useless skills that people actually have in real life. So, with that in mind, a couple of questions:

What useless skills do you possess in real life?

And what useless skills would you LIKE to have?

Personally, I've got a few fairly useless skills. I can swear in a dozen languages, read whilst riding a bicycle (not recommended!) and have been known to freestyle rap in iambic pentameter. As for skills I'd like to have... I've always wanted to be able to throw a boomerang properly. Have never been able to get the hang of it...

So, how about the rest of you?

Contact juggling. Think David Bowie with the crystal balls in The Labyrinth.

As for useless skill I'd like to have, backflipping.

Can you turn the crystal balls into stuff?

My useless skill is being able to whistle through my teeth. I can't understand why nobody else seems to be able to.

I can solve a rubik's cube.

I can read Japanese but I don't actually speak Japanese so 90% of the time I have no idea what the words I'm reading mean.

College will hopefully fix that which I'm heading off to shortly.

I would venture to say that touch typing is not really a useless skill, particularly if you're in a job that requires a certain WPM: I was a proud two finger typer for years and was able to keep up a reasonable pace using that method until I was forced to learn touch typing for a programming class pre-requisite in high school and as much as a loathed learning to type I have to admit that it really improved my speed and ability to type off a page.

Which is all to say, I guess, to give it a go! Totally worth it. And unlike back flipping, you probably won't make a mistake and possibly break your neck. :)

My middle finger can shoot forward with enough strength to hurt people. Not serious damage, more than a flick, it just kind of locks back in the joint and then shoots forward. It's a lot of fun, nobody expects the finger.

Skill I'd like? Gymnastics. I've done Jiu Jitsu and I've got pretty good reflexes, being good at gymnastics would be the next logical step towards Batman. Next, advanced cybernetics.

Don't really think this is a skill, but occasionally I will accidentally do things in my room while on the computer and they end in awesome ways.

Like this one time I was resting my chin on an empty water bottle in front of my keyboard when it slipped and vaulted itself off the keyboard over the monitor off the wall behind it, then over my head into the trashcan behind me.

I can juggle better than most people, but worse than anyone half serious about juggling. I can do a Mill's Mess and a Boston Mess, which are like the easiest "hard tricks".

With my eyes closed, I can throw something in the air, and if it still within range on its way down... I can catch it.

This a million times.

But anyways, I can speak four languages AND pretend I'm speaking in russian.

I can also recite all Winston Churchill speeches.

And I can bend reality to whatever I want.
