I try to use the best grammar I can at all times. Considering I also write the odd review and post it in the User Review section, I do need to keep on top of spelling and grammar, otherwise I'd get slaughtered for it. Though, my spelling does suck. Thank God for Google Chrome's spell checker, that's all I can say.

However, at times I do sometimes respond to posts like I'm speaking to someone face to face and I know them fairly well. So, at times, I do slightly butcher it. Examples include saying 'sorta' instead of 'sort of' and 'ya know' instead of 'you know.' And I only use the text speak if I'm joking about in PMs or Forum Games and the situation demands is suitable.

No one saw that... >> XD

I'm fresh from a Youtube internet argument, and I'll tell you my view of thing: proper spelling and grammar really, really, does matter.
It distinguishes you from the millions of other retards on the internet - if it's something like "nvm ur to ignorant to see the point", well, people can safely disregard it.

I don't use capitalisation in chat and multiplayer-game conversation, and sometimes I don't use it in *chan posts, depending on how mature I intend my post to be, but I think that's it.

I also don't see why internet-bad-grammar would leak out into the real world in your exams and essays...

I use correct gammar most of the time. The only times I don't use it is for quick posting, instant chats etc. Oh and when I can't be bothered. I don't need it to be perfect but at least make it neat.

When I don't you correct gammar I still type the full word out I just don't read it to check for errors.

I make a large effort for proper grammar, and would never, EVER be caught using 'ur' and 'r' and 'u' and the rest of that ilk. It promotes fluent use of the English Language and expands my vocabulary, not to mention seperating me from 'that lot'.

As far as I am aware, I have always (well consistently over the past 3 years) abided by grammatical rules when writing anything. In fact, when I'm not sure what would be grammatically correct, I google the sentence to find out.

The irony of the the thread title is humorous.
I try to use proper grammar as much as possible. Occasionally I slip up, but hey, who doesn't.

Me, me!!!

Well I admit that I do believe there are some times where is it acceptable to use terms like "lol" and such (mostly in a chat/texting situation), but even when I'm texting I form complete sentences and spell my words out. Grammar is important.

being non native english and slighly dyslectic I try the best I can. It's something to remember that a large share of people posting on the internet will not have english as their first language,

I always type with correct spelling and grammar. Always.
Be it a forum, Steam/MSN messaging, or even texting, I uphold my standard.

I don't even know why I do it anymore... I just cringe at the broken excuse of a language others use; but I don't tell that to their faces, just grin and bear it.

Of course, smileys don't count :3

EDIT: Okay, I suppose there is one rule I break... I do, in the most occasional of circumstances, use the term 'lmao'; generally as a fragment or the first word of a sentence. At least it's better than the other generic expression of laughter :D

I keep my posts nice on forums, but I use shorthand when playing MMOs. Every now and then, there just isn't the time to type out an entire battle strategy.

I'm not perfect, but I always try and use lots of comma's and stuff to make it read more like a spoken statement rather than a descriptive/analytical thing. I do this mainly because I figure, writing is our way of recording or communicating without verbal words, so it makes some sense to make the written form as close to the verbal as possible, as one tends to be a representation of the other.

I try my best to use proper grammar. The main reason is mostly because this is the Internet, and not everyone may have English as a first base language. I figure it's polite to at least try to get a point across as good as you possibly can.
