This is cool news. I look forward to more games having cross-functionality between the PS3 and PC in the future. Like Borderlands. I can see RPG's having more legitimacy in that, tho FPS's should work fine. What I can do with a mouse and keyboard I've seen plenty of players do just as well with a control pad.

Kinda sucks that Valve doesn't let you cancel preorders. If they had confirmed buying a PS3 version would net you the Steam version, too, I'd have done that instead.
They told that when they announced Steam for PS3. Long before pre-orders for the PC began. It wasn't a secret.
Microsoft has stated many times they don't support cross-platform play because, and this is from an actual quote: console players are worse at FPS than PC players are.
That and MS would see Steam as a threat to XBLA and GFWL.
For good reason, as GFWL stinks and gets in the way of the game more than aids it.
Their loss, really. The PS3 still has plenty of potential to it. XBox reached its threshold long before Kinect came out. As it stands, Kinect is proving to be better with PC than giving that crappy console new life.
