It's free for a week. GO, GO, GO!icame said:I wonder if it will go on sale for the update... if so I will finally get in on this despite still having like 20 un-played steam games...
Fair enough, "are always fucking hilarious" doesn't quite cut it the PC age, does it.Tom Goldman said:are generally entertaining to watch.
Yeah, it may be, and I hope it HAS to be installed by everyone that doesn't have it, because its awesome.Corkydog said:Theory: TF2 is going free 2 play.

I agree.Irridium said:So psyched. Hopefully The Medic will also get some more lines, like all the other classes.
If only there was a group [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/The-Escapist-Team-Fortress-2-Group-PC] with it's own servers for Escapists to play on...
Join the TF2 group! Most games are announced through there.TheBobmus said:The UK server is always empty whenever I'm on as well, and I live in the UK!
Hopefully this news could spark some life back into the servers!
*crosses fingers hard*
I want me some fellow Escapists to play with!
OT: Good news all round methinks, F2P for the week after exams finish means I can play with my girlfriend without having to persuade her to buy it!
They'll probably wait a while after it to rake in that money, then let it go free to play.goldzabuza said:yes but then what will be the point of the free weekend?Corkydog said:Theory: TF2 is going free 2 play.
Evidence: This would be a huge update, the ManCo store already exists, the game is already several years old so new copies sold is less and less likely, Valve recently said they are developing a f2p game or games, and Steam now has f2p functionality.
Oh, and TF2 has been used as a testing ground for Valve's wacky new ideas for a long time now, so if they were going to experiment, this would be the game to do it with.
Because dropping a free 2 play DotA 2 on us without at least trying out the concept in a safer environment is a tad risky.
Thoughts?
With these alliterations they've been doing (Mobster Monday & Timbuk Tuesday), I'm thinking a World War Wednesday- Soldier and Medic being the features (USA vs. Germany and all that)Grufflenark said:Scrapyard Wednesday tomorrow.
I'M CALLING IT!
If it does there will be a large amount of not very happy people wanting their twenty bucks back.Corkydog said:Theory: TF2 is going free 2 play.
