Edit: Anyone that even THINKS that you may want TF2, get it, its 10$ dollars, and before someone NINJAS my ass, hats don't hurt TF2, you do for taking the game seriously, when the game SHOULDN'T BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY IN THE SLIGHTEST [and you probably play on shit servers] this game rules, get it, or your a chump.

OT: Good news all round methinks, F2P for the week after exams finish means I can play with my girlfriend without having to persuade her to buy it!

Evidence: This would be a huge update, the ManCo store already exists, the game is already several years old so new copies sold is less and less likely, Valve recently said they are developing a f2p game or games, and Steam now has f2p functionality.

Oh, and TF2 has been used as a testing ground for Valve's wacky new ideas for a long time now, so if they were going to experiment, this would be the game to do it with.

Because dropping a free 2 play DotA 2 on us without at least trying out the concept in a safer environment is a tad risky.

yes but then what will be the point of the free weekend?

They'll probably wait a while after it to rake in that money, then let it go free to play.

I just started TF2 again a few days ago, and can't believe I ever stopped D:
(While we're here, does anyone have any tips on Triple jumping with the FAN? I can't get the angle right most of the time..)

side note the demo man weapons look awesome.

They almost look a little too awesome. Melee-ing as a Demoman used to be just for the lulz, now they're making it pretty damn powerful by the looks of it. Shame there isn't a sword to go with that outfit though.

As for the Sniper, damn, that rifle looks like an awesome challenge to use properly. A year or so back I would've drooled over it, now it just frightens me. It's like an S&M tool for pro snipers.
