What about Freeman's Mind? That is watching someone play Half Life, but it is far more entertaining than the real game.Casual Shinji said:Exactly.Andy Chalk said:I think Gabe's initial idea is this best: Just don't make one. The idea that properties can naturally and easily move between media has been proven false time and again. We don't need a Half-Life movie. (Sure wouldn't mind seeing Episode 3, though.)
What made Half-Life so great wasn't watching it, but experiencing it. Same as every other good narrative game. Watching a Half-Life movie would be the same as watching someone play Half-Life: It's not bad, but I'd rather be playing it myself.
Question: Concerning the story, what did it first? It was the first game to pit a civilian against an alien invasion, but what movie did it before?voorhees123 said:Done right? Lol. The game story is hardly original. Its story has been done loads of times before. Problem is if they made it to like the game it would suck because they would be concentrating to much on making it like the game, all the little pointless details that the obsessive fans would notice, instead of making it a great film.

Valve flew the two brothers to their HQ?Reveras said:Valve flew those 2 brothers to their hq and said that they were blown away by their efforts and such. Valve have always been amazing at supporting their fans and ensuring that the best things get done.
Didn't they try this already with the episodal stuff?Arachon said:Then I'd rather see Half-Life becoming sort of a miniseries, then they won't have to finish EVERYTHING in one go.
Yes.... Someone already pointed that out... my bad.Niccolo said:Didn't they try this already with the episodal stuff?
And didn't it sorta... stretch into a project of forever-ness?
