Not to seam like Sheldon here but thats why the have inertial dampers.
What? No no no, inertial dampeners are there to stop you getting crushed into paste as soon as you enter warp.

Must resit the Sheldon impulse must resit.... AHHH I failed. You sir are wrong, inertial dampeners are there to stop you be crushed to a paste by the acceleration of going into warp, when you come out of warp you are merely accelerating a long the opposing vector. So you are wrong, wrong, oh so very wrong. REBOOTING HUMANITY CHIPS...... OK the Sheldon moment is over.

Yup I can see it now.

We finally break the light speed barrier and design a ship to travel to other worlds.

Then we get pissed off and confused why every planet we visit is obliterated and all the hot aliens we could have had sexy fun time with are already dead.

these "scientists" are total idiots
OBVIOUSLY those things would happen, and thats why you have to make reverse-polarity warp shielding so that you DONT have that happen.

Picard would SO face-palm this article, guys

Started replaying Mass Effect 2 the other day, this quote seems eerily relevent! =D

"Once you fire this husk of metal, it keeps going till it hits something. That can be a ship, or the planet behind that ship. It might go off into deep space and hit somebody else in ten thousand years. If you pull the trigger on this, you're ruining someone's day, somewhere and sometime."

Step one: get cheap, expendable spaceship.
Step two: install an autopilot.
Step three: warp towards enemy planet/base/giant space urchin.
Step four: You know how much kinetic energy a whole spaceship moving at lightspeed has? Bonus if you fill the cargohold with rocks.
