I think what everyone is forgetting about DRM is that if they focus on making a good experience for you to play the gaming rather then focusing on prevention you from stealing it, you'll definitely steal it.
One thing that has been proven through out history is that if you give people the freedom to be criminals they will be criminals 100% of the time. If Ubisoft doesn't use UPlay to assert their dominance over yo... I mean protect their IP, then you would definitely 100% illegally download this content because you are a criminal. Also its proven science that rules never ever in human history have ever lead to an increase in crime or even slightly encouraged in any way ever. These are facts people.
Complete and utter bullshit.
DRM doesn't stop piracy, there's several titles I'm waiting for to get discounted before I grab them, that I could pirate right now if I was so inclined.
GOG sells nothing but DRM-free games and does well, and I have a bunch of games from them.
Make it worth the money, make it convenient, and people will buy it.
Make the pirated version superior to the retail version due to DRM and you have a problem. There's plenty of games I haven't bought because of the DRM despite wanting the game and them being on reasonable sale(particularly GFWL or Tages, which for example have stoped me from buying Dark Souls and Dead Space 2 respectively). My backlog of legal games is large enough that I don't resort to piracy though.
With the exception of multiplayer centered titles, pretty much everything is available pirated, but they still sell, so your 100% number is pure unadulterated fantasy.
EDIT: Looks like I fell prey to Poe's Law.
