Turning back to Lyra, she said, "Regardless, I still feel kinda guilty about just running off like that..." the combination of her own shame at her actions, and the embarrassment resulting from Lyra's statement to Ness caused her to look at the ground and start wringing her hands together again.

"You've certainly shown me you are a magi, yes." Nybeth conceded to Rita. "But I've yet to see anything proving you were the same one responsible for the large spell that caught my attention."

Envy would find that the Defense base had a large force within it. There were several Golems and Xiphatian soldiers on duty. Several magic turret were being fitted along the walls.

So...what would be the reaction from a space thing landing near/in the city of Lakewest?

Ness blinked blankly before tilting her head again, having not heard of knocking boots back where she was from. "Miss Reed... I'm not exactly sure I follow what you mean by that term..." Turning to Jessica and noting her reaction, Ness looked even more confused. "I've been doing well, Jessica. ...Are you sure you're alright?" She asked as she walked back to check up on Echo and Holly.

Yukino was trying very hard not to just burst out laughing at Ness' naivete. She followed Trilby in a considerably better mood. [color=bb66bb] Oh god, Sinclair...! Don't try to kill me like this~! Agh.... my sides~.... [/color]

A guard addresses Envy. "State your business." Several others were there as well, and a Golem was making no effort to hide it's existence near the gate as well.

OoC: @Dot: Near the city? Well that would just be stupid... They wouldn't have made it out alive, knowing them. The military would have already killed them.

Data looked at Lyra, "Shall I scan for them? I am quite capable in combat." he said, turning to Jessica, "Tell me, why are you uncomfortable?" he asked.[hr]
Fecl begins to walk to Lakeside, still pretty scared by Rita's attacks.

Trilby looked at Lyra, then Ness and finally Jess, wringing her hands. He raised an eyebrow, then leaned over to Jessica.
"Surely a misunderstanding like that can't be that embarrassing." he said, quietly. "It doesn't sound like she was saying it in a negative way, either... unless... hmm..."
When he realised Ness didn't even understand what Lyra meant. Trilby pulled a small piece of paper out, and drew a crude sketch of a woman wearing nothing but a fedora and a naked catgirl, then labelled them as 'Jess' and 'You' and handed it to Ness.

"Having sex, Ness. You not have that phrase ehere you come from?" she looked to Jess, and said "I don't want to force non combatants to fight that fight. They were special forces, ready to rip up people who interfered with the mission. Lucky there mission wasn't killing us."
Lyra addressed Data "cloaks will let out patches of infared, while active. Search for blotches of infared on an infared sight and you'll find them."
OoC @Salty they thought the town had been abandoned, and left to set up a staging area when they realized it wasn't.

The combination of both Trilby's sketch and Lyra's bluntness made everything click for the fedora girl. Her face quickly turned bright red before she looked down at the ground, stammering a bit, too flustered to respond to either of her 'enlighteners'. A few long moments later, through her shaky voice, she scratched her head while still looking at the ground. "...I... I mean... To be honest.... I like you too, Jessica...."

Yukino looked at Ness and continued with her muffled giggles. [color=bb66bb] Aaaaand everyone's a lesbian. No exceptions. [/color]

"Actually, she has stated that she is, in fact, not homosexual, and it was a mistake on Lyra's part... I think, my proccessors are currently malfunctioning, so I might be misinterpreting her voice." he said.

Trilby looked at Data, then wrote down the dictionary definition of 'lie' on another piece of paper, then handed it over.

"You're looking for Savranth? One minute." The guard says and he motions for another soldier to go get him.

After a few minutes, Savranth walks out to the gate. "Do you need something Envy?" Weird name...

"It was simply larger than any other sort of spellcraft I've ever seen before." Nybeth replied to Rita. "And yet you say it failed? Pity. I believe I would enjoy seeing some thing like that completed."

"Oh, yes! I just, uh, feel bad for running off earlier when I heard there was going to be a fight!" Jessica replied to Ness, trying to cover up her actions a bit. As Ness was going up to check on Echo and Holly, Jessica whispered to Data, [small]"It's not really something I like discussing all freely and out in the open, like exactly how it is now."[/small] glancing over at Trilby, she said, still in a whisper, [small]"Like I said, it's not something I enjoy discussing out in the open among other people who really don't need to know!"[/small]

Doing her best to shake off everything she had just been talking about, Jessica turned back to Lyra. After realizing that she'd just be repeating her point if she said anything, she just nodded at Lyra and muttered, "I should have at least offered to try and help instead of just running off..."

Hearing the latest thing that Data had said, she spun back to face him and said, sounding somewhat flustered at this point, "N-Now wait a minute! I didn't say that! I-I just said that we weren't involved with each other like that."
Ness' latest statement seemed to stun Jessica for a moment. "...Y-You do?" She nervously asked as she also started to blush again.

Data looked at Jessica, "Oh, I see, I misinterpreted your response. I apologize for the apparent malfunction, and for talking about that subject. I will be running a-."
He see's the paper Trilby passed to him, and read it aloud, "'Lie: Noun, An intentionally false statement.' I fail to see what bearing this has on the topic at hand." he said.[hr]
Fecl begins to move back to the open land, to see if Rita was still there...

"It's a work in progress, crafting a spell like that takes some time. Who are you anyways?"

Envy gave Savranth a big smile "Hey there, long time no see! You've been hanging out with those other guys from other worlds right? I was wondering if any of you have thought of a way to get us home?"

Ness paused for a few moments before nodding weakly toward Jessica. After she did this, she got even more red faced and began to run off into the inn to check on Holly and Echo.

"A- Are..." She takes a deep breath before calling out again, still a bit flushed from the whole ordeal. "Holly... Echo... are you two still here? It's safe outside now..."

Yukino laughs audibly as Ness runs off. [color=bb66bb] "So cute! Like a blushing bride~!" [/color] She looks over at Jessica with a knowing smile. [color=bb66bb] "Try not to be too rough on her, okay~!?" [/color]

Echo and Holly would still be waiting in their room. Holly was playing with her doll while Echo lazily practiced her penmanship.

"Never mind that. That was my misunderstanding based on your misinterpretation." he explained.
He glanced at Jessica and Ness.
"I think we should let these two talk this out in private before everything goes tits-up and we end up getting roped into doing something stupid like breaking into a heavily guarded building because one of them is desperately trying to seduce the other." he said.
He thought for a few seconds.
"Wait, that's why I'm here, anyway... Sort of. I'm not sure."
He looked around.
"I'm going over there now." he pointed at a wall a few feet away, then walked over to it.
