"Some people are attacking us. There's zombies outside. And Dalahar's in his demon form again!" Shana said with urgency.

As the ground shook, Shana rushed over to the window to see the woodland titan in the distance.

"And now there's a giant walking tree outside the size of a building. Where the hell do we go now?"

 

[Chungus]

Hotel room, Pointe Saint-Charles, Montreal. Midnight. March 5th​

Although they fumbled a couple of times, Kuki finished putting their collar on. Moving out from under the bed, Kuki looked to Shana as she spoke, their heart racing.

"Can we get out through the front door?"

they ask, trembling on their legs.

Outside Hotel, Pointe Saint-Charles, Montreal. Midnight. March 5th​

As the magic forest started to get drawn together, the spybots' sensors detected the masses closing in, and began ascending to avoid collision. With their small size, it wasn't hard for the lot of them to slip through small openings, the last few escaping as the forest formed into the giant.

Out in the open, the spybots continued flying about, and filming the various combatants from up high.

Portal station, Pointe Saint-Charles, Montreal. Midnight. March 5th​

While the battle raged on in the streets, back in the portal station, one of the ant spybots had been monitoring Blue's activities, if she was still present. The second, had not spotted keeping watch on the portal, and now moved closer to it, to see what was going on, on the other side.

Black would find that attempting to drain life from Nina would prove roughly as successful as trying to drink water out of an empty glass.

Nina tore off the bits of vine that clung to her, setting them on fire and tossing them against the giant tree monster out of spite. "Well, this just got more annoying." She groaned to herself. With Black's weakening spell no longer being actively used against her, Nina's body became recovering almost immediately. For the time being, she clung to the branches so as to not get thrown off the moving giant, not seeming to have a hard time of it at all, as she paused for time to let her body heal and think of a further course of action.

 

[Gearhead mk2]

Candace gawked at the giant tree, feeling quite useless. She stood by the others, following them if need be and slashing at any vines that got too close.

 

[Silence]

Montreal, Quebec, Canada. March 4th, 2025
- Streets of Montreal -
Around Midnight​

With Yauna, the ETR-Squad and Nina all trying to incinerate the tree giant, it took fire in places, which, however, did not seem to spread far. The ETR-Squad would slowly be able to make their way downwards, but behind them, the flames flickered, and the branches grew together again. Nina would also be able to mostly free herself, and not fall down, as the tree did not move very fast.
Yauna's flames did hit 'belly', arms and legs, but did not seem to do much. For a short time, the flames would destabilise the monstrum, then they would fade, and the damage would be grown over.

"You know, we want to win too." Black stated to Nina, then started chanting an unholy song, and the dead, headless, bodies of zombies seemed to move and fuse together. Raz would not be able to hold the still living back for much longer, as his punches and chops were not enough to kill most of them.

- Portal Station -​

The spybot would not see much. Blue was sitting around, seemingly staring into the distance, and not moving otherwise.

On the other side of the portal, the throne room was still visible, not much happening inside it, apart from a few guards standing guard.

 

[Furioso]

Raz backed off and threw a couple more confusion grenades into the midst of the zombies.

 

[Slenn]

"It's impossible. It's completely crowded by a horde of zombies. Should we try and look for the fire escape?"

 

[Chungus]

Hotel room, Pointe Saint-Charles, Montreal. Midnight. March 5th​

"Yeah... . That might be our best bet at getting out of here"

, Kuki responded, moving closer to Shana.

"Let's hope that place isn't surrounded, too!"

Noticing that her flames were choked out quickly, Nina started formulating a different plan. Figuring that Black and Green would be higher up on the tree monster than she currently was, she starting trying to climb her way up. Her strength was more than enough to easily carry her own weight, so unless impeded, she would make fairly quick progress.

 

[Slenn]

Shana scooped up Kuki into her bag. With Candace in tow she started looking for Nina's room.

After not being able to locate Nina in her room, there was a bit of a panic. But she proceeded to find the emergency exit.

"I feel we might be out matched here..." Candace noted as she followed Shana around, internally panicking about Nina's absence.

 

[Vakra jal]

the Dalahar thing thrashes about on the ground before righting himself. He gazed at Ella for a second honestly debating whether or not to gut her. Dalahars influence tugs itself away from Ella and he begins tearing into the zombies again, into the street. Noticing the giant he issues an unearthly roar but the gaggle of zombies around him draws his attention and he continues to rend them apart.

Montreal Streets, Around Midnight

Yauna looked at the two colossal monsters, and began considering plans for dealing with them both. She continued focusing on the tree monster, holding her arms out and chanting. Tendrils of dark energy grew out from her outstretched hands, and approached the trees. They slowly wrapped themselves around the vegetation, and would cause the plant monster to start withering as its life was sucked out by whatever unholy being Yauna was channeling.
The damage caused, unlike that of the flames, could not be undone by magic, however the monster would be able to avoid the worst effects if it was sufficiently resilient.

Montreal, Quebec, Canada. March 4th, 2025
- Streets of Montreal -
Around Midnight​

Raz managed to 'confuse' more zombies, making them attack each other, while still trying to get to Raz, but slower.

Dalahar tearing into zombies on the street was mostly useless, as they were already rendered immobile by Yauna. The dead he ignored however formed together to a big hunk of flesh.

Black had been at about the same height as Nina, so she raced right past him. She would be able to reach an impenetrable wall of treetrunks and branches around the chest area, with spikes coming out of them.

The monster was quite resilient, and its size meant that the tendrils did not get much of the whole. The parts they got withered away, very slowly.

 

[Furioso]

Raz continued to fight back the undead with various powers.

OOC: gonna be heading to work soon, assume Raz is just in the fight doing stuff.

Montreal Streets, Around Midnight

Having induced some rotting in the trees, Yauna turned her attention to the zombie monster. She quickly sprinted inside the hotel kitchen and would grab a lime and a bottle of water. She would then also look for a potted plant of some kind, and grab a handful of dirt out of the pot. If any of the zombies tried attacking her, she would blast them with another beam of golden energy.

Stopping before the blockade, Nina looked around and considered her options. Only being able to spot Black now that she was above him and no longer had vegetation blocking her line of sight, she thought to herself, Guess we'll start here then She attempted to drop down on top of Black. Despite her far above average strength, her weight wasn't any greater than an average child's, but if she got hold of Black she would try wrapping her arms and legs around him as tightly as possible.

 

[Silence]

Black was basically inside the leg of the tree, so dropping on top of him would be basically impossible.
The blockade might be possible to break with help, but not as one person, however strong.

Zombies tried attacking both Raz and Yauna, but obviously weren't very effective. The ones dead seemed to get dragged back outside by some dark force, and fuse together with the other ones, making it now an two-stories big Frankenstein's monster.

The zombies offering little resistance had bored the Dalahar thing already. He looked around for which one of the two new threats to fight. He didn't like the idea of fighting the tree beast. He wanted to feel his claws sink into flesh and feel the warmth of blood. His desire drew him to the zombie monster that was forming outside and he charged screaming into the monster

Montreal Streets, Around Midnight

Yauna dropped the earth into the bottle of water, then bit some of the rind off the lime and began squeezing the juice into the bottle too. She then put the cap back on the bottle, and started to chant. adding a dark, ethereal glow to the mix. Finally, she returned to the streets and hurled the bottle up at the giant zombie monster thing. With a final word of the incantation, Yauna caused the mix to spray over the zombies. The monster's flesh would stiffen, making it a little harder to move, and small patches of skin would be partially petrified.
