Ella sighed and thought back to the encounter with White, then said; "My first warning was that Dalahar, the big guy, radioed me to say that some crusader-like type had come to capture one of the EDs brought here by the anomaly. He informed me that she was creating a small army to surround the building, and he did not like her attitude. When I came downstairs I was worried that there could be a fight, but I had neglected to don my armour because of how little time there was. When Lambda, the councillor at the portal station, entered with White I was there to meet them. I let Lambda go talk to Anik, because I know her. I questioned who White was, and she replied that she had come to bring Anik to justice." After a short pause, Ella continued; "I told her what the correct channels to request extradition would be, and she replied that she did not have the patience for our democratic system. She also said that she would bring other extradimensionals to justice as well, and destroy the portal station. I told her twice to leave, and said that I would arrest her otherwise. She did not believe she'd committed any crimes, but issuing threats is a crime here in Canada. Since she refused to leave, I asked that she lie down on her stomach and place her hands on her back, so I could arrest her. She exclaimed that she couldn't disobey the emperor and rushed out, taking to the skies. She ordered her small army to attack and incapacitate us." Ella took another pause, to see if Red had any comments so far.

 

[Slenn]

Basketball Court
"There is no element to stop a fusion reaction. There's no chain reaction going on inside my body. Once the chemical reaction starts, there's no need for another one. As long as the plasma is held in place by the magnets, it can be self sustaining."

Alleyway
"I'm going to get a better look."

She sped up the pace to a normal walk and brought herself to the corner just before the front entrance to the hotel. Her mouth was agape with awe as she saw the remains of the zombies, robots, and the aliens commanding them. She could also spot Dalahar on the ground

"Wow." Was all she could say.

 

[Silence]

Montreal, Quebec, Canada. March 5th, 2025
- Hotel -
After Midnight​

Red thought for a short time, then answered: [color=e50000]"You know, parts of this story do not fit to what I knew of White.
She created a small army before talking? That's ... well, too rash. She was more diplomatic other times. Now, I do not know what she was told about this Anik, but catching her should not have been too difficult ...

And yes, she wanted to bring her to justice, and she did not like democratic systems - but she would have gone through the proper channels. There was ... no, there should have been time enough. Apparently she did think otherwise?
And 'bringing others to justice' sounds completely wrong. We wanted to bring people back to their worlds, not to 'justice'. And the portal station should not have been destroyed. Just the portal closed - and we did not have the information that this world already had established connections to others, so the situation would have been different.[/color]

[color=e50000]And you telling her to leave, she not complying? Not what I knew, but ... she could not disobey the emperor? Honestly, she was not even under his command, but she still wanted to follow it?"[/color] Red furrowed her brow. [color=e50000]"All this - it sounds like she feared something, or like she was pressured. This was not what I wanted her to do, I knew nothing about the extent of this. And it's not like how I knew her ... but we struck a deal with the emperor. It seems like he wanted more than that. And of course, her death was the perfect set-up to make Black angry ... he should not have called that undead army. And he would not have, if he wasn't angry, and had followed my orders. And I don't know why Green helped him. They were friends, but the extent of this ...

I knew nothing about it."[/color]

Now, Red spotted Candace, holding teapot and cups. [color=e50000]"Phew. I think I need a tea after all this. Are you serving?"[/color] she asked Candace.

"Um... Of course." Candace sat, pouring a cup for her armless guest and wondering how she would drink it.

 

[Chungus]

Basketball Court, Pointe Saint-Charles, Montreal. Afternoon. March 4th​

"Huh. Okay"

, Kuki said, then was quiet for a moment.

"Well, please continue."

Near hotel, Pointe Saint-Charles, Montreal. Past Midnight. March 5th​

"Okay, be careful... "

Kuki said, anxious about the idea of getting closer to the area. The kept their head poking out of the satchel and looked around as Shana began walking towards the battlefield. When close, Kuki felt their heart pound on seeing the ravages the battle had wrought. When catching sight of the fallen flesh golem, and the zombies, cut to pieces, and squashed out on the streets, Kuki felt their vision get blurry, and their head getting light. Soon, they fainted. Unfortunately for Shana's bag, Kuki lost control of their bladder in the process.

Skyranger, the far north. March 5th.​

Stripped down, the Forefront agent was revealed to be a human male of unidentifiable descent. As was the case with previous captured Forefront agent, the man had thin and wispy, hair, extremely pale and rather dry skin, glassy eyes, and a body temperature that was whatever temperature the surrounding was, having no internal temperature regulation. He was a zombie.

The man kept quiet during the time the first half of the flight, and cooperated when he was striped down to their underwear. In the forest, however, when his underwear was to be taken, the man protested. Probably at the threat of being shot, he eventually cooperated once more.

When in flight again, the man glared at the nearest agent, saying, [color=#IIBE00]"So. I guess I'll never see the light of day again? Why not execute me on the spot and be done with it."[/color]

Forefront facilities​

After leaving the morgue, the alien and armoured figure returned to Forefront HQ, were the agent was reassigned. The alien met with the head of Extradimensional Operations, and explained what happened. With the morgue site compromised, it was decided to have the site cleared, then sold off.

Later, the head summoned the Forefront council - meeting digitally, almost all were in a different location - on how to proceed the operations on the Earth present in the dimension known as Realm 7382.

Realizing that her act of playing dead wasn't going to keep her from getting carted off, Vyse groaned in irritation. The wounds across her body began slowly closing up and stopped bleeding. [color=ef5000]"Should have just cut my loses when I had the chance..."[/color] She angrily muttered to herself.

 

[Silence]

Montreal, Quebec, Canada. March 5th, 2025
- Hotel -
After Midnight​

[color=e50000]"Do you maybe have something to sit?"[/color] Red asked Candace, clearly not being able to take the cup in a standing position.

 

[Slenn]

Shana made her way into the front entrance of the hotel spotting Ella, Red, and Candace. She then smelled the urine inside her satchel and looked inside to see what happened.
"Oh god damnit." She muttered. "Well at least the only thing that got soaked was the waterproof computer."

She went over to where they were sitting, but set her satchel down a good distance away from her. She crossed her arms. The sight of the blood all over Ella was disturbing, but her focus was suppressing her gag reflex. "So, can I ask what just transpired? My name is Shana Vang, by the way. I was asleep in my hotel room when gunfire was sounded."

 

[Kirke]

"Well, there's a bit more to this. You see, I did not actually try to kill White since I knew she wasn't trying to kill me, or at least that what she said. She eventually got the upper hand and knocked me out while Dalahar was brought down by her army. Then the Emergency Threat Response squad arrived, I had called for back-up soon after the fight started. But with me unconscious, I never got a chance to tell them to use non-lethal force. All I had managed to tell them was that I was under attack by a magic user. Hell, for all they know I could have been dead, not unconscious. We've encountered magic that kills without leaving visible injuries before."

"I didn't personally see the fight end, of course, but the report I read states this: As the ETR squad arrived, White had Anik in her custody. Another ED admitted to handing dragging her out and handing her over, to end the fighting. The squad ordered everyone to drop their weapons and get on the ground. White did actually drop her spear, as did her constructs and most other EDs. But hardly anyone laid down. This is considered fairly normal when dealing with extradimensionals, as they often do not understand the severity of the situation. So the squad ordered everyone down again, and three people disregarded this order: The ED who turned Anik over, Dalahar and White with her constructs. White called out something, I can't quite remember what, and began chanting. The squad took this as spell being cast, possibly a dangerous one, and opened fire. The ED who turned Anik over was shot by a stun-bolt, while White was shot by the sniper on the roof. A trooper did prepare to fire on Dalahar, but hesitated. He had given them tactical advice, including telling them that White was the primary target. Seeing as I was already out of it, they did not take any chances with White. Dalahar actually assisted in taking down White's constructs when the squad opened fire.

Ella sighed, and said; "And that's it, really. Anik and the ED who handed her over were arrested in the aftermath, the latter was quickly deported with your help as I've heard it. Anik will most likely be released from custody soon, as we can't hold people very long without charging them of a crime. Anik hasn't committed any crimes here, and honestly? I don't see how we could even trust your charges against her any more. I mean, it doesn't look good when one of the accusers is arrested for some very serious crimes."

She then turned to Shana; "Frankly, I'm not entirely sure. I know there was a giant tree and a fuck-ton of zombies. It's mostly a blur though."

The lieutenant leaned in and said; "Because that just isn't our style, you see? Besides, it seems to me that you're already kinda dead." He leaned back again and said; "I've read up on the war, ugly business that. 'Course, back then you fought military, XCOM. They were shut down, we're XPOL. We're cops, and you've committed a crime. Your charged with assault on a peace officer, the maximum jail time for that is five years. As far as I know there aren't any black ops that'll whisk you away, so I'd say you're probably going to get back out some day."

OoC: Vyse is with the regular police now, so that's for Trilby to deal with.

"I think there's some chairs around here... Hopefully not broken..." Candace found a chair, putting it near Red.

 

[Silence]

Red nodded to Ella's description about White. [color=e50000]"Thank you for telling me this. I think it was a misunderstanding, I doubt White wanted to cast a harmful spell - but I can understand the response. I will not hold you to it, whatever the others may have told you, I'm out of it now. They reacted how they should not have, and White was maybe set up.

As for Anik, I have only heard about her, not met her myself, so I don't know how true the charges are - even though I heard stories. But quite frankly, with how White reacted, I'm not sure bringing her back would have been the best idea. I would like to speak to this Lambda, however - I want to know her and Aniks view on things."[/color]

She then sat herself on the chair Candace had brought her, and held out her right foot. [color=e50000]"Thank you. Just reach me the cup now.
What kind of tea is it?"[/color]

"My own private blend." Candace told Red smugly.

 

[Chungus]

The man couldn't help but let out a chuckle at the remark of there being no execution because he was dead, already. After, however, he took a breath, and had a steely expression again. [color=#IIBE00]"Considering the other arrestee was being handled by average Joes, after having called... whatever it was, I find that hard to believe. From where I'm sitting, it seems like I'm about to be thrown into a hole in the ground."[/color]

After Midnight​

[color=e50000]"Huh ..."[/color] Red said. After Candace put the cup to her foot, Red sipped on it by holding the cup with her foot to her lips. She wondered how it would taste.

The officers whose custody 'Vyse' was now in looked at her in confusion, then at one another. one asked, in French.
The other shrugged, then replied,
the first officer muttered, as he led 'Vyse' to one car. The other officer brought Black to a different car.

Vancouver

A portal technician sat at a computer in the Vancouver Portal Station, staring at a screen full of seemingly nonsensical data. His colleague approached, looking over his shoulder, and asked what the hell all this was.
"It's the data from the anomaly in Montreal. Some political stuff got that station closed down, so they can't go through the files. We've got to find the signatures of the individual universes, but there's so much noise. The portals weren't meant to open gates to however many universes all at once..."
The second tech scratched his head, then said, "Well... I do not envy you."

 

[Kirke]

Ella sat down on a chair, and after a little bit her chin sank down to her chest and she started to snore. It had been a long day...

"You can thank your employer for your special treatment! They caused quite a stir last time they tried to much about on our planet. We're not really worried about you, per se, but rather who might try to break you out. A regular prison would never hold you." - The lieutenant said, smiling. "And if I see any black-ops trying to place you in a deep, deep dungeon until the end of time I will personally kick their asses. That sort of shit might have flown during the old days, but not now."

 

[Slenn]

Basketball Court.
Shana put the sleeves together and commenced the fusion demonstration. There was a soft 'bang' from inside the sleeve enclosure. There was a hum from the magnets and the ring of plasma inside.
"There we go." The symbols on the sleeves glowed blue once again.

Hotel
"Ah whatever. It's late. And if people are too tired to explain stuff, then I'm too tired as well."

Shana would retire to bed in her room. She placed Kuki on a folded towel sitting on an office chair. The satchel was emptied and then left in the bathroom on top of another towel until she would have the time to wash it.

The tea was strong, flavoured by an unidentifiable but potent soothing herb.

Assuming the officers didn't speak English due to them not doing so around her, Vyse just kept quiet and went along with what she was being directed to do.

Montreal, early morning, streets in the aftermath of battle

Dalahar finally had enough energy to sit up,feeling alof more like his old self he picked him self up off the floor. He could barely remember anything from the fight but it was clear from the rivulets of gore and organic matter that splattered and stained his armour it had been messy. Any silver or black on his armour was theoriugly as red as the rest of him now. A quick glance around shows that Dalahar had landed in an alleyway after he fell off the tree giant, judging from the claw marks that dug into the buildings, concrete and the roads and paths. It was clear to see where Dalahar had been. Destruction, carnage. Was there anything else he could do? Of course not. Maybe that was the trouble, trying to see if he could change,!if he could fit in. It was impossible. He was a daemon, a creature of furious power and unnatural bloodlust. Even before he was a Gal Vorbak the actions he had committed without remorse were enough to condemn him in multiple different hells. In his own universe his actions were a mistake but no more than another atrocity in a galaxy burning in civil war. Here however, compared to everyone he'd met. He was a mass murderer. A butcher. A thug.

Looking up and down the street confirmed what had happened and how Dalahar felt. He could see the aftermath of battle.
Terrible and bleak. After the ETR squad departed he starting walking towards where he knew the river was. The others has likely fled or sworn him off when they saw what threat he posed as a possessed. That was right of them too. Shana could defend herself now. Ella, stalwart as usual. He was distraught since the last thing he heard was Nina screaming in pain, by his bolt shot. He'd probably killed her. All the more reason to leave. Ella was likely preparing a squad to come get him. Put him down.

In spite of everything Dalahar wasn't giving up, for whatever reason he is driven to survive, to live on.
