Weapons You Would Like To See More Of In Games

you know, i want a chain gun. and not just a chain gun, but a chain gun using shotgun shells. just think of how effective that would be

I really love this weapon and the technique for it, I'm rather sad it never sees more usage in games or media. There are more blades out there than swords and daggers, try spicing things up a little.

I support katars.

I'd also like to see more halberds or pole arms. I mean, sure they're in games, but they never really serve any kind of a purpose. It'd be pretty interesting to see the legendary weapon in some jRPG be some really badass glaive.

I think Dante's inferno has a Scythe of one of the two main weapon; I forget the other but I'm pretty sure there's a scythe; and judging by the game odds are you take it from death him/her self

Shame then, because unless it comes to PC I won't be playing it as I probably won't have any other gaming system within the next few years.

Action RPG I think I meant. Not hack'n'slash esque action games like God of War, Devil May Cry, Prince of Persia, Diablo type games, etc. I want something slower paced.

First or third person 'shooters' also (think Dark Messiah).. I can't think of any other genre that aims at what I'm after.

I want to kill enemies, solve puzzles, navigate terrain and more, all with the scythe.

At the moment, I only remember a scythe from Soul Calibur 3, wielded by Zasalamel...but that's a fighting game and will never satisfy my urge to use a scythe as I see in my vision. (Deathscythe from Gundam Wing Endless Duel too, just thought I'd give Duo credit as Deathscythe turned on my addiction to scythes back when I watched Gundam Wing growing up.)

I know there are a few other games, but I can't remember them at this time. There's one really special one and it's bugging me that I can't place it.

Mortars.
Except for FarCry 2, you almost never see them in a game unless they're fixed or something.

I have a random complaint though with the mortar and grenade launchers in video games. They never give you the ranges on the the sights so you always have to guess.

I would have to say reflector weapons yea they come and go but its not as fun as pulling up a shield that reflects bullets when some one tries to shove a gatling gun up your arse

I want to see more polearms in fantasy universes. Polearms were the most common (And most effective) weapons until guns were popularized, it is only reasonable to want to use them. Seriously, why didn't Dragon age or Oblivion have any spears?

Exactly. Why is there never a spear-wielding class, or even spear weaponry available? Spears, halberds, and other pole-arms were the rifles of those days, with your sword being the side-arm, like that little pistol you use in shooters when the ammo runs out in your assault rifle.

The reason no one uses them for games is because they're only really useful when there are 499 other guys with pole-arms next to you. I mean, seriously, have you ever tried to swing one of those things?
