I'm a bit OCD about washing my hands.

Also, somewhat claustrophobic. It has to be really enclosed, as in interfering with my movements, though.

Bit of a redudancy with the title...
Rin Little said:
I'm completely OCD about my books. I have to have them in order from largest to smallest and I don't let anyone borrow them, especially after my dad's wife borrowed my copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and it came back with water stains on the pages and the cover was all bent around the edges.
And I'm terrified of frogs and toads, I have no idea why. There was one sitting in front of the door to my apartment complex and it took every ounce of self-control I had to not scream and to step over it to get inside.
I'm not targeting you in particular, but I thought I'd nip this in the thread early if I could. That's not OCD, that's OCPD. Obessive Compulsive Personality Disorder is about having everything perfectly tidy or sorted a certain way.

Obessive Compulsive disorder is about having intrusive thoughts (the obession) and having to perform an act (the compulsion) to stop them, such as the simple thinking the door is unlocked and having to check it, or a bit more complex, like having an unwanted sexual thought and having to say a prayer to dispell them. Some can get quite bizzarre like switching on lights a certain way to stop a spouse from dying.

It's a bit confusing but with one letter, there's a huge difference between the two.

I'm not sure if it's weird but magpies drive me to a shivering wreck, not birds in general, not even crows just magpies.. I was repeatedly pursued and attacked by one of the course of several days whenever I was walking to school until the exhaustion and anxiety got too much and I collapsed on the hill on the way to school. When I finally found the strengh to stumble into the school I was rewarded with the amusement of my 'friends' several of whom had driven past while I was collapsed and had to listen to claims of how I was too unfit to climb the hill. I was then violently ill and sent home. Ever since then Magpies have filled me with fear, I try to avoid the spot I was attacked as much I can.

Not really weird, but I'm really, really afraid of pain. That's why I've been putting off getting my wisdom teeth removed for this long. And it's not really the pain, it's mostly the anticipation that gets to me. If I accidentally stab myself with a needle, that's cool, but if I'm on my way to get a tetanus shot, I'll be freaking out. And I usually always think "meh, wasn't so bad".

I have a strong compulsion to always fold my fast food burger wrappers perfectly evenly before I throw them away.

/shrugs

I never even really noticed I did it until one day my best friend finally spoke up about it, mentioning it in a conversation with some other people. I felt oddly ashamed, even though I hadn't been aware I was even doing it.

I talked with him later about it, and he assured me it was no big deal, so I've never really thought about it anymore.... until now, at least.

I only have one real phobia in this world, at least of the things I've encountered.

Ladders.

I love heights, flying, climbing trees, whatever; but it takes serious convincing and someone to hold it to get me on a ladder, even if it's an A-frame with super strong locking braces. The slightest wobble causes me to freak out. In the stock room at work, I'd rather climb the shelves than climb a ladder.

As for OCD, there are certain items in my room that if not placed in the PERFECTLY EXACT LOCATION EVERY TIME it bothers me until I fix it. The trouble with this being I have no idea which particular thing I move will start bothering the hell out of me.

I don't know if any of this even counts but the closest things I think I have to OCD would be;

1. I not always but sometimes have a feeling I never turned a light switch off all the way. Say like before I go to bed, and the light will be out but it bugs me to no end so I get back up out of bed turn on the light and turn it off again. But I never stand there and turn it on and off over and over until its just right. It's just a one time reset.

2. Before I go to bed I set my alarm clock and I usually have to set it 3 or 4 times before I am satisfied it will be set properly to go off in the morning. I don't know if that's actual OCD or just paranoia because if you bump the clock it sometimes flashes the alarm indicator and it won't go off when its suppose to.

3. I like to set things up to look equal or symmetrical. It kind of bugs me if something is lopsided or uneven...but again not to the point of "OH MY GOD WTF!"

So I don't know if I have any OCDs or just things that I misconstrue as OCD.

As for phobias they are as follows;

1. Bees/wasps etc: I have over come this fear pretty much except when I am surprised by one or it dive bombs me.

2. Spiders: I have also over came this one except again when they surprise me. I have actually gotten to the point where if I see them I can catch them and release them outside, but I freak out if I walk into a web and don't know if a spider is on me. So it isn't completely gone.

3. Public speaking: Oh god just shoot me...I can wing it after a while but oh man do I sweat so much and my hands and voice get shaky. :S

I have a phobia of 3:39 a.m.
Creepy shit always seems to happen to me at exactly that time....

Lots of OCD stuff, I think my weirdest one is that I will always stack the little coffee creamers in restaurants(used ones) and fold all the sugar packets and tuck them into one packet (again, used) then poke them into the creamer cups. Breakfast out is OCD fest!

I wouldn't say I'm claustrophobic, i've gotten into the crawlspace of my house many a time, I just really don't like caves or any sort of underground structure without some sort worked stone/human interference.

as far as Obsessive behavior. The covers on my bed have to be close to even on both sides or I can't fall asleep. I will also never ever set my alarm clock in something ending with 5 or 0. I don't know why.

I'm afraid of cockroaches. Everything else is fine. I'm actually an entomologist assistant.

Something odd? Open doors. Can't handle them. I have to close all the doors in a house I see. I'm able to not do it in other people's houses, but it's stressful all the same. Also, if I close a door, I have to check if there are any doors behind that which are open.
This originates from the strange assurance that a serial killer will have to open that door, which would give me time to at least stand up or something.

I obsessively clean my Xbox and my laptop because they're both white. I've been known to make someone feel like crap about themselves by insinuating that they're filthy and need to clean their hands before they touch my controller. Sometimes I'll take paper, swabs, and other stuff and clean my controllers with them to make sure there isn't a speck of dust. Can never get it out of the corners of the back button thought, dammit.

I'm also terrified of the dark, but that's not really weird.

And something someone else said too! I can't clean if someone else is there!

i cant go into a room with sick in it, i collect anything that is connected to an out of the ordinary event (ie the centenary Irn Bru can (its the original can but a bit different), a ticket from Alton Towers) and i collect ring pulls and if i ever get chocolate buttons i need to have all the different animals. i dont know why.
i also cant clean if someone else is in the room, and when i do i have to re-alphabetise all of my CDs, DVDs and games.
also, i want to count to past the highest number someday year. s.
Assuming that you count at the speed of one number per second, you have been counting since the moment of your birth, and you will live to the first world average of approx 80 years old, then the highest number you will count to will be about 2522880000 (two billion five hundred and twenty two million eight hundred and eighty thousand). Is that as high as you're wanting to count?
