Weird sighting over Norway

I actually saw this thing while walking to a lecture this morning. According to Norwegian newspapers it's the result of Russians testing a missile off the coast of Northern Russia, which, as I'm sure you know, is pretty close to Northern Norway. This was confirmed by Russian military sources, which, I can only assume, means that it is nothing of the sort. I guess some sort of jet propulsion engine could have made that strange spiral, but I honestly don't know.
