I do n't like games that go all supernaturally all of a sudden or just strange such as, Uncharted, Fallout 3/NV (the Mutants, nightkin, ghouls etc) but the funniest excuse I've ever seen is on the MC forums. Some kid started saying that minecraft copies (fortresscraft etc) were all stupid and that he did know Minecraft started as a copy f infiniminer and then when somebody asked if he likes Terraria, he replied that he hadn't played it but knew it was stupid and could see it was stupid.

TL:DR I don't like random supernatural stuff in realistic/modern setting games and once came across somebody who wouldn't play games because he was a fanboy.

My 7-year old cousin thinks that any "game set in medieval/fantasy setting" is an "old game". And "old game" means "bad game", obviously.. -_-

I saw someone on the forums for Deus Ex Human Revolution saying that they weren't getting the game because it had controller support. Really? Controller support has been in plenty of good pc-exclusive games, it's not indicative of a console port. Also, just cause it's a console doesn't mean it's a bad console port.

What annoys me about the CoD series is that the guns feel weak as hell. I know, maybe not everyone agrees with me, but they just feel and sound like pea shooters. Now I know in real life guns don't take heads and limbs off and insta-gib if you put a 9mm slug in someone's leg, no, it's just the feel of shooting and loading them, has no weight or recoil. I think even Counter-strike 1.6 guns had a better feel to them (anyone remember zooming in the Sig 552, that slow chunky crack you get instead of full-burst? And the silenced M4? Even the USP? yummy)
Not really that weird, these are supposed to be WEAPONS, they are MADE for KILLING, if they feel like paper it might be okay in over-the-top action games like Devil May Cry, but in a gritty cover based shooter it can fuck right off.
Finally, I thought I was the only way that felt that way. They did a little better with Modern Warfare 1 and Black ops, but in almost every other game (especiall Modern Warfare 2) the way the guns looked, and how they sounded when you reloaded, they always reminded of playing with toy guns.

I think it's pretty weird when someone has decided to not like a game simply because the developerss created it for a console or with a console version in mind. Then again, that's really no different than not liking a game simply because it's on System X (which, shockingly, isn't the system the person complaining happens to own).
Nah, I fully understand that. I hate bad controls, no options to change my settings etc. This all happens if the game is designed for consoles.
No, you just don't like badly designed games. It's quite logical, of course, but has little to nothing to do with consoles. The things you listed are fairly easily surmountable if approached by a developer who actually does their job.

I tried to like Brutal Legend, but all of the characters (Apart from Ophelia) Annoyed the hell out of me. Especially Eddie.

Half life 2 because I didn't like the shooting element. Can't really give any specifics but the shooting just didn't feel right to me. Yeah.

I despise Jack Black so I'm not touching that thing.

OT: I refuse to play anything with a subscription fee.

It doesn't stop me from playing it, but it irks me when in modern "realistic" shooters, they use the wrong guns or have totally the wrong uniforms and gear.
Thank you. Why the hell would an american task force use soviet weapons it makes no sense.

I want to try Assassins Creed II or Brotherhood but I just can't get past the godawful Italian accents.

I know they're in Italy but I've seen plenty of Italian movies and I know nobody talks like that. It's like they got Mario's voice-actor to voice everyone.

Games which claim to have a shred of realism or simulate modern combat then fuck up large chunks of realism:

E.g. - In MW2, the L86A2 LSW is reloaded entirely with the right hand, the only weapon to do so. In real life the SA80 series of weapons are loaded entirely with the left hand.

My friend will never PVP in WOW because he 'opposes the war' he even wrote a 5 page dissertation on how much of an affront it is.

I have to say the whole excuse of 'because we were enemies in the past' is getting kind of old when there is giant death dragons and zombie kings wandering around. But it is just a game.
Your post inspired me to spend 45 minutes finding this:

Here's one: I don't like Call of Duty games because pretty much everyone I know does. That isn't just "rebelling against the prevailing taste consensus" going on, I've literally had to endure watching gameplay of those games, or listening to people talk about gameplay of those games, for so fucking long and so often that it just warped my opinion of them. You try having to endure living with 3 people who between them probably played Modern Warfare 2 non-stop for 24 hours a day, for a whole year, without forming a deep loathing of the product.

Over-exposure: it's a *****.

El Shaddai, I will probably never buy because after seeing it advertised so much on here I just got sick of it.

I don't like El Shaddai because it beat me to death with ads. And they weren't even good ads, either.
It's apparently one of the most highly anticipated games of the year. Then why haven't I heard of it until you started shoving the ads in my face every time I try to watch ZP?

I was trying to get my friend to try Amnesia: The Dark Descent and after about 3 minutes of playing he quit... When I asked him wy he said "because it's Luigi's Manion with better graphics"

This is the same friend that didn't like Bioshock because "you spend too much time underwater"
now I'm curious... what's his taste in games?
Other than CoD and GTA 4, he doesn't play much...

I really dislike JRPG's because of the art style and terrible character design, it makes me feel like I'm at a gay pride parade. That's not the only reason though, the game's just bore me to death too.
