You can lose the last fight in FFX. You just have to try really hard. (cast stone on your whole front party will do it).JediMB said:Personally I thought it was pretty crap that the game forced you to play through a drawn-out final boss battle that simply couldn't be lost, when the whole thing would have been a lot better as a simple FMV.Syntax Error said:Which was pretty sad considering how great FFX's ending was.

For me it's not so much the ending itself, it's the entire final part of the game. Starting midway through Chapter 11, the game loses all atmosphere. Chapter 12 is pathetic. You move a plot item around (forcing the use of the annoyning physics gun) while the game spawns waves of enemies at you in large well-lit areas.squid5580 said:Wow what is up with the Dead Space hate. Although it may not have been some incredibly deep life altering ending if you have ever watched a sci fi or horror flick the ending was suitable to those standards. Although I am a big fan of the cheesey B movies so it is my own opinion. I didn't have any expectations of an intelligent "keep me up at night pondering it" ending so it didn't disappoint.
The worst part was that they seemed to like it so much they decided that railroaded non-sequitur senselessness should be the defining trait of the whole series.Lukeje said:Half Life. What the hell was that whole Xen sequence about?!
I strongly disagree. I hold Advent Rising's ending among one of my favorites among all videogames. FFX also had a great ending. And Legend of the Dragoon's was so complete. The Myst games have always had great openings and endings in my opinion as well, especially the endings of Riven and Exile. And Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time had a great ending.meatloaf231 said:Advent Rising. Grrrrrr.
Seriously, the ending to that game had a cliffhanger that would make Halo 2 feel inadequate. It didn't help that the company, which had promised a trilogy, went bankrupt after the game's release. Possibly one of the most confusing endings in the history of gaming will never be explained because of it.meatloaf231 said:Advent Rising. Grrrrrr.
I swear if I ever make it into the game industry, I'm going to pick that game up again, but do it well.
Wait, so the actual game doesn't matter to you as long as its a good ending? I get what you're saying about anti-climactic endings, but please verify this for me.Syntax Error said:We've all heard of the phrase: "It's the journey that matters, not the destination". To me, that doesn't apply, to videogames, I mean.
Best FPS ever. And the melee combats were greats! I loved the part when the nuclear missile fall just beside you, with a big ''GAME OVER''on it the it explode 2sec before the last boss try to kill you. Better yet, that didnt even end there!xitel said:I was disappointed by Breakdown's ending for the Original Xbox. It was a huge cliffhanger to what is easily the best story I have ever played in a video game. It was supposed to be a trilogy, but noone bought the first game, so it was never finished.
