WH 40k - I need help!

Stay away from Chaos everybody i know who did play them have either started playing space marines, because you can make a better Chaos army with the SM rules but I digress.

I started with tyranids; and that was a lot of fun, but it is a hard race to play against armor heavy lists and it teaches you some bad habits that do not go well to other armies.

Got my "11th Kronus Armored" Imperial Guard painted.

Burnt Orange Body Armor with Black/Grey BDUs.

My tanks look like Tigers. It's hot. The orange and black scheme is rad.

Is it true that GW have made the baneblade PLASTIC now? And less than £400?

Forge World's Bandeblade is £140. I know someone who's done a chaos conversion on one, including things like wrapping razor wire around the main cannon barrel (careful whilst painting).

Of course, the main advantage of the baneblade in 40k/Apocalypse is that your opponent gets bored and wanders off whilst he's waiting for you to finish rolling all it's attacks.

Personally in the end I think you should jsut go with what ever army you think looks the coolest or apeals visually. that's what I did with Daemonhunter because I read the Dan Abnett Inquisitor books and thought i'd go for them. Little did I know how expensive their models were, how difficult and specialised purely against daemons their rules were or how limited their troops are. And that's just the way i like it, now give me some god damned plastic models already GW.

Finished a large portion of my Tau.

Royal Blue armor with a charcoal color for their BDUs. White is their 'trim' color.

Turning out quite nice.

My Kroot are painted blood red with flecks of black here and there.



What I've been doing is playing with the "Army Painter" in Dawn of War to find a color that I like for the units before I commit to painting them.

Did anyone here use any of the Eye Of Terror lists?

I had a mostly stand in version of the Space Wolves 13th Company of the Wulfen. And enough Eldar to play Ulthwe' Strikeforce, of course I didn't play either because Ulthwe' strikeforces are screwed by the 3rd turn shooting phase and it feels wrong to be fielding a mostly bottletop army of Space Wolves.

Aesthetically, Chaos is the most appealing army to me, then dark eldar, 'nids, and so on and so forth.
