I did, for a bit. Then I realised how much money they were charging for pewter (at first, then plastic) tiny models.

I was an Space Orks player in WH40K, and Witchhunters in Mordheim.

I do still love the surrounding fluff, though. The comics, novels, and so on are still excellent and relatively reasonably priced.

I also used to play nids about 2 editions ago, I don't mind the new models but I like the older ones a tad more

I don't play WH40K, per se. I do, however, play the spin-off Necromunda. Cawdor ftw!

I own Space Marines, Chaos as Loyals and Orks. I also have a ton of Warhammer Fantasy stuff, Titans, Warhammer Fortress, destroyed 40k city and so on ...
But I don't really play that much anymore, mostly because of the lack of friends playing.

I've collected a few armies of the years space marines, chaos, nids and Chaos in fantasy too (before the split when they where unstopable, steeds that had better stats than a space marine!)

Have activley collected in a couple of years but plan to start up again as soon as I move house at the end of this month, thinking either nids or skaven.

I have a Space wolf army thats pretty old and broken up.It was my first army from way back, and they're my favourite space marines chapter still.I have a necron army, because I think they're one of the coolest races in the game.I have a tyranid army because, well, who doesnt like horde armies.I had a Daemon hunter army but stopped that because almost all of the army was metal and was a pain the fix and buy (expensive). And now I have a forgeworld death korp army (Imperial guard), because they look incredible! Also they're alot of fun to play with.I think thats all the full armies I have and play with.

Oh, and I don't like Orks or Khorne armies. They just set up and run towards you.Kinda boring.Even though tyranids do this too, but, tyranids looks awsome doing it.

Currently playing WD sisters of battle and in my last game if everything was perfect (and it almost was at one point) I could fire 32 melta rounds and I loled all over his 3 talos and 2 wych squads.

This was with my 2000 point army btw

I have several small armies for a variety of races, Imperial Guard is the one I'm working on at the moment, I also have 500 points of Eldar, an old 500pt Guard army using Steel Legion, and a Necron army which hasn't seen the light of day in many thousands of years.

Looking at starting Raven Guard once I'm done painting my Imps.

Blood Angels are the single most spammy army in the game, cannot stand playing Blood Angels, the codex is just broken.

As so many people seem to be complaining about the price of the miniatures, I'd like to remind everyone that unless you plan to play in tournaments, there is no obligation to use GW miniatures. I'm using Napoleonic Brits as my Guardsmen it works well and I got 52 men for £20.

I play space wolves, but I hate grey knights. I don't like their fluff, I dont like they get Voltron, and I don't like that a lot of people play with them now.

Chaos scum will be purged by the black templars, I assure you. And I occasionally roll with the grey knights, when I feel especially zealous.

I first started playing when I was very young and have a very poorly painted vanilla Space Marines army. I started playing again around 2 years ago when a lot of my friends started.

I now have a badass Dark Angels army, started collecting them because I like Space Marines but wanted something a little different and the bikes look unbelievably cool (they've got wings on!!). I was incredibly disapointed when I began comparing codexs though and discovered that the vanilla marines can get the same troops with much more flexibilty for cheaper making it impossible to win with a standard set out army. I then realised that the Dark Angels have one mighty advantage......Deathwing Terminators and now field a full deathwing army with a couple of land raiders for heavy killing. Its not what I intended when I first set out but its an arse kicking very small army thats easy to carry around and theres no better feeling than watching your small elite force rip through a massive enemy horde.

I also don't like the Tau very much, every player seems to play the same stand back and shoot tactics.

Just started picking the game up with a group of friends in the last few months. I play Tyranids, largely because I like their playstyle, they remind me of Zerg (my most played race in Starcraft), and I like their back story. Something about an unstoppable, single minded, hive of alien predators from beyond our galaxy, seeking only to devour entire worlds appeals to me more than pretty much any other army except maybe the Tau.

I'd say my least favourite are the space marines of just about every variety. Can't totally put my finger on it, but it's likely tied into the whole stereotypical superhuman badass in power armour. Maybe if I had gotten into the game when it was new the power armour wouldn't put me off as much, but now everyone seems to do power armour if it's even remotely space related. The religious fanaticism doesn't help either. And I really don't like their look either. The vehicles and things generally look pretty cool, but the actual marines themselves leave a lot to be desired.

I've never played it, but I've played a lot of their spin-offs.
I'd be interested in trying it if only there was some players in Lincoln.

I always liked the look of the eldar personally.

EDIT: I have played warhammer fantasy though, where i had an undead army and a goblin army, but the goblins where my favourite.

I got a "small" army form the Imperial Guard so some tanks, arty and lots of guardsmen (lots and lots of guardsmen :p).

Got a problem though my friends play Grey Knights (terminators every where 0.o)
