That is the most gimmicky thing I have heard, and I will only admit the opposite of what you want me to admit.GamemasterAnthony said:Admit it...that would be an awesome feature. *points dramatically* ADMIT IT!!!
I wouldn?t necessarily count Gorebyss as a Dolphin. I always thought it was more like a sea-snake like its nearest relative from the same generation that was the alternate evolution of the pre-evolved form (fuck me for not knowing the name right now).2xDouble said:The closest thing to a dolphin is Gorebyss [http://serebii.net/pokedex-bw/368.shtml].SilverUchiha said:Dolphin hasn't been done yet.
Gilamonter hasn't been done...
Hm... neither has Platypus.
Dilapasaurus (with InGen added poison spitting action for shits and giggles). \
Anything from the raptor family. I know they did something off Archyterypx (spelling is way off) but nothing more Deinonychus or Velociraptor-like.
there isn't even a T-Rex or a Triceratops Pokemon yet. here?
Gila monster: Scraggy [http://serebii.net/pokedex-bw/559.shtml] and Scrafty [http://serebii.net/pokedex-bw/560.shtml]
Platypus: many don't count Psyduck, but Golduck [http://serebii.net/pokedex-bw/055.shtml] certainly is. Ducks have wings, not webbed fingers.
Closest raptor-esque is Gabite [http://serebii.net/pokedex-bw/444.shtml], Garchomp [http://serebii.net/pokedex-bw/445.shtml] or Haxorous [http://serebii.net/pokedex-bw/612.shtml]
T-rex: Tyranitar [http://serebii.net/pokedex-bw/248.shtml]
Triceratops: Aggron [http://serebii.net/pokedex-bw/306.shtml], maybe Terrakion [http://serebii.net/pokedex-bw/639.shtml] (not quite, but close enough)
are you kidding? there are loads of T-rex pokemon! tyranatar is the only one i can name, cuz i've stopped playing them from 4th gen onwards. but i know of two more that were released in the latest batch[/quote]SilverUchiha said:Hm... further research shows that there isn't even a T-Rex or a Triceratops Pokemon yet. Man. Seriously, there's not one pokemon that resembles a man. Unless you count Ditto that cute pink slime critter who can appear to look like anything it wishes. Not even sure if it has a gender or not at all.
Darn ninja'd**
ot:Is there a domestic dog pokemon not aa wolf just a domestic dog?

You know what the most distinctive badger features are, right? Typhlosion has none of them :S
If they hadn't taken liberties with the designs of most pokemon, we'd just have a bunch of anime animals running around, and that wouldn'thave been interesting at all. As someone before said, is Torkoal not a tortoise because it's fire type? I would have thought that logically a badger would be ground or normal type, but here we are with a typhlosion instead.
Here's a page on typhlosion, check down the bottom, in the origin section. http://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Typhlosion
Naturally, like many other pokemon, it's a bit of a combination of a few animals, but Typhlosion is pissed off, badger shaped, and a pokemon, and that's good enough for me.
Oh jesus, fuck me. From what I can tell, you kind of defuncted this whole thread by saying how Pokemon are inspired by animals, rather than making carbon copies of them with anime eyes.mip0 said:We do have a bunch of anime animals running around.captaincabbage said:It's called taking creative liberties man.mip0 said:What, how is Typhlosion a badger?captaincabbage said:Yeah they did a badger in Gen 2. If that's the closest thing to a badger then I say there is no badger Pokémon!
Also, what do you mean by "It's called taking creative liberties"? When you say that it sounds like whoever designed Typhlosion was assigned to making a Pokémon that resembles a badger as if Pokémon claims that their Pokémons (oh God) look like animals and that they could be sued if this wasn't true.
I'm pretty sure they're just inspired by animals and so what they come up with doesn't really have to look like any animal at all.
I think this thread is about what Pokémons look like and whether Typhlosion was based on a badger or not he sure doesn't look like a ba-.. OH MY GOD I'VE BEEN THINKING ABOUT BEAVERS (heh)
mybadmybad so sorry, Typhlosion does look like a badger, he is the badger Pokémon. Sorry!
Now, is there a beaver Pokémon?

Lampreys are eels, not fish. Neither are leeches (except for the parasitic lampreys), so you are also correct.RaikuFA said:electross is a lamprey, which is a fish
Thank you for that idea.SilverUchiha said:Sorry, but I see no true-blue Tyrannosaurus Rex.
