What animals has Pokemon not done?

Hm...well maybe we should count plants and minerals too since Pokemon has been doing both for a long while now. As for animals, I don't think they've done an Orangutan yet. I think they also skipped Sphinx, Trolls, characters of the Hiragana and, Katakana alphabet, Angler fish, mosquitoes, horseflies, horse shoe crabs (Kabuto is not one)...That's all I've got though...

Have they done a badger? And they did a dolphin
Yeah they did a badger in Gen 2. Typhlosion.

OT: They haven't done a cheetah, and they haven't done a falcon as far as I can remember.
What, how is Typhlosion a badger?
You know what the most distinctive badger features are, right? Typhlosion has none of them :S

How about anything like a virus or a bacteria perhaps? even if it wasn't constrained to the microscopic world
ditto and one of the 5th gen ones(and his evolutions) who's name I keep forgetting
The I-can-be-anything pokemon who looks like dropped pink blancmange? I don't see it though, I wouldn't even call it resembling an amoeba really sorry

ah yes, i remember that one, second generation wasn't it?
well then... what abooouuut... an rhinoceros?
Oh come on you know who it is big hint. earth generation 1.

rhyhorn
damnit! now i remember!
sigh... okay... hm... what aboooooouuuuuuut... a walrus!
Such as Walrein?

I can't really remember seeing a spider or a sea cucumber.
Spinark covers the spider. And they came out with some vegtable thing that resembled a sea cucumber but I think was supposed to be an eggplant.
Spiders have 8 legs. Spinarak has 6.
Don't be so damn technical. These are pokemon adaptations, not entomology. Spinarak and his evolution are the poke equivalent of spiders.
Actually that's not technical at all. It's THE defining character of a spider. When you got an unknown bug the first thing you look at is if it got 6 legs or 8 legs. Thus Spinarak and Ariados are insects.
My point is in this ridiculous discussion is talking about adapting animals into a world that is imaginary. In this magical imaginary world there are a bunch of magnets stuck together with sentience. Realism and our laws of nature don't come into play here. Spinarak was inspired by spiders so any spider pokemon after him will feel derivative regardless of the number of legs the imaginary cock-o-mon has is going to change that. Applying our laws of entomology to the pokeverse is ludicrous.

Yeah, I get that, but I want to see a Pokemon that is an actual spider. Spinrak is not. Spiders are not the only arthopods capable of making net.

I can only think through the first two gens, but the more unlike-lies I'll nominate are a squid, Kiwi, parrot, rabbit, sharks(?), chickens/hens, zebras, tigers, centipede, dingos, leeches.....that's the extent of my current knowledge.

Let me know if those have actually been done in the more redundant series. :p

I don't think they've done hagfish, cuttlefish, stingrays (mantine is a manta-ray, not a stingray), tapirs, a whole swath of different dinosaurs and pre-historic creatures, and a huge amount of various ocean creatures

We have Angler Fish, Lanturn.

This could be argued to be an Orangutan.
http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/555.shtml

Shinx is named for but has limited characteristics with a sphinx.
http://serebii.net/pokedex-dp/403.shtml

Is this a troll?

Snorelax blocks bridges. That's troll-like behavior.

Why is Kabuto not a horseshoe crab?
He just needs a tail. Diglett doesn't even have limbs but it's called a mole.

Giant bipedal Chicken.

Shark
http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/319.shtml

Centipede
http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/545.shtml

Arguably a parrot.

Bunny

Tiger
http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/243.shtml

Zebra
http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-bw/523.shtml

Leeches, squids, and dingos I can't pick out.
Although I don't know what the hell Dunsparce [http://www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/206.shtml] is supposed to be.

I don't know if Darmanitan is much of an orangutan...I can kind of see it though...Shinx always struck me as being more of a cat and, Conkelldor as a humanoid. As for Kabuto, I always saw it as a trilobite considering your find it as a fossil...

Tigers.

Tigers is the most well known animal that does not have a pokemon. The closest we've got is Raikou. So that may count.

And then there's dolphins. The closest to that is Lanturn, but that's an cutesy anglerfish.

I love how we are just repeating ones like elephants now.
Also if you combine pokemon with digimon canon, you are pretty much sorted.

Yeah okay you're right about Kabuto.

Isn't a sphinx a cat with a lady face? Shinx just needs that, you know, the most defining feature on a sphinx.

Trolls are vaguely human shaped aren't they? I'm stretching a bit.

In mythology, the Sphinx is known as a highly intellegent creature, asking riddles of it's victims before murdering them. I would assume an actual Sphinx would be a psychic type instead of an electric. I could be wrong though

Conkelldor could be a troll I guess. I don't really know what the hell it is though, other than humanoid.
