Well, since people have been going for answers like "The internet" and "Coca-Cola" (which aren't actual addictions), I guess I'm gonna go with GAMING (not an actual addiction). After all, this is The Escapist, a website about GAMING where almost everything is related to GAMING.

They can absolutely be addictions. Just about anything can be an addiction if you find yourself neglecting other facets of your life because of them.

Oh, here we have the misinformed person(I wanted to call you a retard, but it would just make you rage and have me get myself another warning on The Escapist) of the day! Addictions are things that actually alter the way your brain functions because of a substance, etc. like for example nicotine.
What I have is gaming COMPULSION. Different things, you know? Oh, for fuck's sake, just use Google.

I would be addicted to smoking, but luckily I only smoke after sex.

So, usually I'm a 30 a day man.

Games... oh so many games.
Like many in these forums, I play everyday. Nay, NEED TO PLAY. Whether it be just one match of Black Ops before bed or first thing waking up or an epic session of Fallout/Civ/Shiny new toy/etc, I gots to games.

Besides that, warhammer 40k on weekends and my horrible vice of a pack-a-day cancer sticks.

Depending on the season, I become addicted to different sports: futbol in the spring while the Champions League is in full bloom and regular club play is winding down. In the winter I gotta get my ski on(or ice skating if I can't afford to go to the mountains): my version of heaven would involve a console in the lifts/gondolas and an eternal ski day full of sunshine and powder.

Ponies, caffeine and dubstep are my poisons at the moment. My gaming addiction is waning, though, and is being replaced with pony.

Soda, especially Coke. However have reduced my intake quite a lot[footnote]from 30 cans a week to maybe 10[/footnote] since I have lost my free dentist(turned 20) and is going to be hell to pay if I keep it up.

I wouldn't call the internet an addiction of mine. I can go without it, I just wish I didn't have to because I like to keep up to date with stuff.

Tea and Scones.

Broke my ankle earlier this year and started taking Vicodin. Orthopedic doctor jumped me up to percocet 10's because the pain worsened. Been taking those for several weeks now. If i stop taking them I get an awful migraine and pretty severe nausea. Its not going to be fun when the scrip runs out. =/
That's bad and I know how you feel. I was given painkillers earlier this year because of a kidney stone. It felt amazing when I got it, but it was the worst thing ever when the effect passed, and that was after the pains form the kidney stone had stopped being so horrible. That was one time. I can understand how you feel, but I can't imagine how much worse it must be after long term use.

OT: I used to be quite addicted to coffee and get horrible migraines whenever I went a day without it, even feeling nausea and a need to throw up, sweating, having problems thinking, waking up and even sleeping. I tried to quit earlier this year because I think my extreme coffee habbits may have been bad for my kidneys (6 cups every morning) and I was basically an aggressive zombie with a headache.

Now I am clean. I drink coffee every morning because of the taste and that it goes great with my breakfast, but I only drink 1 cup and I am able to go days without drinking any coffee at all.
