3 is my personal favorite of the franchise, but 2 has the better impact for me. I didn't find 3's story as bad as some online critics make it out to be. I do admit that I don't give a damn about Pyscho's love interest, Claire(?). Yet, the twist where he finds out who skinned him out of his suit is heartbreaking to hear from his perspective.
Crysis 3 has the best upgrade system of the trilogy, and I love the hybrid level design of
2 and
3. They even bring back secondary objectives.
I've only had the game crash on me once playing the Remastered Trilogy on PS4. It was at the final boss fight. Closing the app, and starting it again fixed issue. It never happened again when playing on PS4 or PS5.
I do like the ending, as Crytek doesn't do a sequel hook and knew it was pretty much over for the series. I respect them for that.
I can see myself replaying Crysis and Crysis 2, but probably not 3, unless I really want that achievement for beating it on the hardest difficulty, which I doubt I will.
I find myself replaying
2 & 3 more than
1. I just don't like the last
2/3 of the original, and hate fighting the Ceph there. They have too much health, even on easy in
Crysis.
Story is just plop and silly.
Exactly why I stopped playing MW after the second game. The franchise in general turned me off, because I got sick and tired of cover shooters really early. People trying to defend the silliness, or professional critics trying to justify the franchise still being 'realistic' made me less inclined to play them and my younger self told them all to fuck off.
I still think the originals hold up pretty well in graphics terms, though.
Indeed they do.
not that you really care about that...
Thank you. Even without the hackers I never cared that hard for the multiplayer to begin with, and I ain't paying $60 just so some assholes can yell the N-Word at me. Funny enough, when it did happen and they realized I am black, those cowards would take off running and leave the lobby. Though that was mainly in the
Far Cry Instincts multiplayer the one time. Still, there are good people online, but not my worth time as a whole.
