I've been replaying Death Road to Canada. It's such a fantastically charming game. Everything is ridiculous, but in a really fun way.

Also been playing Rimworld with the latest DLC. It's still fun, but there's still a lot of annoyances that shouldn't be in the game after 12 years of development, like the fact that pawns still drop their weapons when they become unconscious and then don't go pick them up, or that you can't search your stockpiles for specific items.

Replayed RE3 on Hardcore with the infinite rocket launcher just to see how cheesy it gets and I beat the whole thing in slightly over an hour. I'm tempted to Platinum the thing but maybe enough is enough for now.

I really need to play RE3 remake. Loved the original, but I know that the remake isn't as good since Nemesis was gutted. I've had it in my steam library for awhile, just haven't played it.

If you ever attempt Nightmare get ready for the final fight against Nemesis to be some grade-A bullshit. I got through that difficulty thinking the final fight was in the bag due to it being a stationary Boss fight, and the fight on Hardcore not adding much of a challenge, but wooo boy...

I thought it was good enough but that's the perspective of someone who hasn't played either the original Nemesis or the remake of 2, which by all accounts make up 100% of the DNA of the remake of 3. Maybe I'm just a sucker for item box management and the little animations that play whenever you pick a lock or use bolt cutters.

I take it it's one of those where you die if you get hit? Or you don't get nearly enough time to completely push one of the three thingies when Nemesis goes down.

No.

One thing I'll give Nightmare... it doesn't just damage sponge enemies. It actually puts new enemies in places they weren't before. As for the final Nemesis fight, they speed him the fuck up, where you NEED to be able to quick-dodge every hit or get bongoed to death by his arm attacks. I never got past it cuz fuck that nonsense.

Dammit I keep forgetting that nowadays "indy" and "2d action" really means "pixel-perfect platforming like as if it's Super Meat Boy or some shit."

I'm at the very end of the new Shinobi and I simply cannot get to the last two bosses because I have to do one of those escape sequences and it requires the sort of thumb-breaking perfect platforming that I'm not capable of.
What makes it even more frustrating is that there are a whole bunch of "accessibility" options that is really just difficulty settings but they're all for combat (enemy health, aggressiveness, etc), none of which matters. There's even one for "environmental damage" but this is the kind of sequence where screwing up means game over so even that doesn't matter.

I know, I know, I know, git gud scrub, whatever- it just pissed me off that a game I got primarily for combat is just yet another Ori and the Hollow Knight of the Celeste Cup Head that I can't finish because all these damn games devolve to some platforming exercise at the end. Up until now the extra-hard platforming sections were for bonus areas but this the only blocking critical path progression.

Celeste is entirely platforming exercises with no combat whatsoever; it doesn't belong on that list. I admit it doesn't change your actual point, I just wanted to say.
True... it just came to mind because it's also a game I quite near the end when I hit my platforming ability wall and was mad about it because I was really digging it until that point.

Now that I've gotten a decent amount of hours into the multiplayer of Space Marine 2, I gotta say, it's not just good, it's downright fantastic! I've still only played the co-op missions with one class and one weapon, but the gameplay's so fun and the missions are so well designed that I don't mind the repetition. The Heavy Bolter is just so incredibly satisfying to use. The 3-man squad feels like a perfect fit for a co-op experience, and it always feels everyone's pulling their weight. The way the missions have certain sections that can play out with slight variations every time, and how different enemies can spawn depending on the difficulty are fantastic solutions for maintaining freshness in replaying the same missions over and over. There's plenty of incentive to keep playing due to all the unlocks, of which there are plenty even without DLC. This really feels like a game that's been refined and filled out over the course of a year.

Outer Worlds 2
Seems like the kinda game series that feels useless to try talking talking about, people appear to have fermented strong opinions against it since the original release for whatever reasons. Maybe it's just my own broken brain but I can't muster anything passionate on either side of any fence here. Is just alright, not worth breathlessly defending and not worth despising, it'll pass through with ease like an ethereal wind or a cheesy beans on toast
I dunno if I'd say strong opinion, since most common opinion of the first one seems to be "Ehhhh it was okay I guess". Sequel early review seem to be sligthly more positive, if not amazing.

Committed full bore to finishing The Witcher 3. Realizing the Isle of Mists is a milestone and having my allies lined up, will now devote time for cleaning up whatever side quests, treasures and contracts lay incomplete.

Shit really? That sounds awesome. I have to imagine the game is doing really well post-launch to be able to add entirely new class.
Yeah, it was even more successful then they were expecting. They also already have a 3rd game being worked on.

Over last couple of weeks or so a vague recollection of a Sherlock Holmes Lovecraft game kept peeping above the bedcovers of the sordid subconsciousness and was wondering if I'd imagined the crossover wholesale or if it were merely a project announced then quietly cancelled later on. But nope, a search reveals not only does it exist and already got released, I also somehow already own the bastard?? How the fuck did that get memory-holed so bad?? Well, gonna find out soon enough this evening once it downloaded i spose. Again lol

I started Hello Neighbor 2 because I was rifling through my library for more "spooky" games (came free with PS+) and man I hate it. This thing is designed to annoy me. You're supposed to break into homes and solve elaborate escape-the-room style puzzles but the homeowners are patrolling around and if they catch you they empty your inventory and kick you out. And this just makes solving the puzzles annoying - the stealth part is janky as fuck and feels like it's getting in the way of the actual fun part of gameplay.

Apparently the game's part of a series in the vein of FNaF that congregates lore weirdos and cornered the reaction video market a few years ago. What am I even doing with my life.

Playing Dispatch, and it's pretty fun. I mean, it's pretty much just an animated series interspersed with a mobile game, but the writing is quite good and the superhero management is neat.

I haven't seen this much obvious pandering in a western game since Baldur's Gate 3 though. I mean, we have the friendly blond and blue-eyed Powergirl stand-in, the moody Hot Topic tomboy, and a tall red demon lady in hot pants.

Still playing System Shock 2, I feel like I'm pretty far, gotten to the Rickenbacker. After I got enough upgrade points to get good at shooting and using the shotty/ar combat got much more manageable. Also being able to hack security and then have robots just ignore you is very nice.

I got 21 kills just by using the secondary MG on Battlefield 6 on a Leopard 2 4M Main Tank. I think I placed second in that conquest match for my team. We won, by the way.
