Four words- Led Zeppelin (in Led Zeppelin's case each word is worth two normal words, they're that AWESOME)Therefore the UK has the best (although technically I suppose Led Zeppelin has the UK rather than the other way around.)

Is this all, perchance, a sneaky way of drawing out people's upcoming Eurovison expectations? ;)

Yeah I'm afraid it's hands down to Blighty. I say that not because I'm British, I have general apathy towards my nationality, but just because a good 90% of the music I love wouldn't exist if it weren't for that whole British Invasion/ rock n' roll thing they had going some 40 years ago.
Hmm, Radio 4 are currently doing a series of radio-plays based around the 'punk generation' [//www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b010k2fj] if you're interested. (though that might be too recent for your tastes)
To be honest I have no interest in Eurovision, I was just curious.

I think we can pretty much agree that France brings nothing to the table when it comes to music. For me its probably the UK, that said i am in the middle of what could end up being a ZZ top marathon.
Not that there's anything wrong with ZZ Top. RIGHT?
Of course not, ZZ Top are amazing. They are American though, which goes against my view of the UK having the best music.

I sure am! In fact, it was via one of the lads I work with in the cinema in Mahon point that I heard about your stuff!

Small world, indeed.
Well, that or small Cork!
Indeed. That's pretty sweet :)

And yeah, Fred are great. Is Carolyn still in the band? We went out for a while a few years ago. Haven't been to one of their gigs in a while, I must pop along and hear their new stuff (I've heard it's very good).

I can't decide since every country makes good music.

But most of the music I seem to listen to comes from the USA, UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada, and Iceland.

Ah, but they would be nothing without American blues artists to cop from.

I'm the same, I keep missing them or just plain not going for various selfish reasons...
I believe she's still in it, I can't think of a better successor for Eibhilín, really.

Feck it, this is making me want to buy the new album and see them gig now...

Also- high fives for being able to call such a classy lady one of your old flames! Nice!

Country
USA
I listen mostly to American death metal and metalcore so just due to my lack of exposure I pick the USA.

I give lots of respect to the UK for dubstep though, and to the Netherlands and Germany for their techno/dance.

NOT Brazil.
Aside from metal, there's like... three artists who manage not to suck?
Seriously, type "funk carioca" on YT and be glad you don't get what they're saying.

I really like a lot of dutch melodic metal. And american prog and jazz fusion.
But I rarely ever check where stuff comes from.

:D Lol, yeah she's sound as a pound. Good musician too!

And yeah I remember when Eibhlin played in the band, that was back when we would have done a few gigs with them. I was in a band called Lotus Lullaby, we did a bunch of stuff around Cork before getting signed to a label and promptly imploding due to the music biz sucking :D

They used to always play that song about about the parsnips... lol. Everyone in Freakscene loved it!

UK defo, we excel in most genres. And some of the most famous artists in the world have come from the UK. Led Zeppelin, Beatles, Iron Maiden, Rolling Stones to name a few.

I'll go for California, as being a haven for my beloved alternative rock.
So if you wanna sort that into the US, feel free.

Canada. I mean, you can't get much better than Justin Bieber, can you?

[sub][sub][small][sub]Even saying that sarcastically is painful and humiliating :p[/sub][/small][/sub][/sub]
