This. Turn the Page was phenomenal at every point in the song, and the sax riff should only ever be played on a saxophone.viranimus said:Metallicas "Turn the Page" by Bob Seager is an absolute auditory abortion that should have never been allowed to surface from the cesspool of musical travesty. Seriously Turn the page is one song that absolutely did NOT need to be covered, and Metallica proved that once and for all.
I actually loved that song a lot. Sure, I've never heard the Bob Seager one, but Metallica's cover wasn't the auditory equivalent of stabbing yourself in the nads, as you two are making it out to be.Condor219 said:This. Musically it wasn't bad, but I was always put off by the way the video for it completely changed the meaning of the song. It's supposed to be about the ennui created by long tours, but instead they turned it into a lament about prostitution. I dunno, it just grated with me. My wife, though, who's a big fan of both Metallica and Bob Seger, liked the cover. For me it's Seger all the way.viranimus said:Only 2 I can think of that I dislike is ... Good call, and kudos for knowing they didn't write it.Joel Dawson said:The Animals' version of The House of the Rising Sun

Well the cover by Manfred Mann is so superior that no one even remembers who released it first.

Yup, I like other songs by Metric but there is just something about Brie Larson's vocals that are perfect for this song.treeboy027 said:I preferred TCADs cover of Metric's Black Sheep.
