Back in 3.5 I played as a Psionic Warrior, but my first and favorite character was a 2nd edition wizard. I haven't really played 4th edition yet, but I might start if psionics is interesting.

I'm about to start with my first game very soon. Where I will be playing a Wizard. Though I'd like to eventually become a Swordmage/Spellsword(3.5e version)

my default characters are all hysteric religious fanatics, bawdry prostitutes, and witches of questionable sanity. my FAVOURITE thing to play is the weakling - you know, the character that winds up captured or sick or is otherwise an extra weight for the party. my husband is our DM though, so i'll play anything that's needed- i'm usually the inside man who knows the plot in advance and helps keep the story on track. i also occasionaly wind up playing 7+ characters at a time in one campaign, which is a huge headache, but lots of fun.

I have an elf druid with dual sickles. My first time playing was today, actually.
I actually play as a NE Dwarf Druid with a sickle; it's fun, right? :) He also has a pet Giant Constrictor named Veshnish.

I actually moved recently and have nobody to play with...and no way to find people to play with either. So...alone...

there are ALWAYS ways to find other gamers! have you tried craigslist? or if you have a local gaming/comic shop, you could post a 'group wanted' flyer - we have a ton of those up at my local nerd-supply.

I play as a ranger most often, though I have been finding the Warlock to be quite fun.

Yeah, I actually posted an ad on craigslist NYC, but there were no takers in the biggest city in the US. lol

Oh, and I also play as a CN Dwarf Fighter who dual wields Dwarven Waraxes and has Whirlwind Attack. You've never seen a more dexterous dwarf, I bet!

Paladin, I'm kinda the team tank in that if you're not me your job is to help me. Unless its more than ten feet away because I suck at ranged weapons.

I try not to limit myself to characters based on the class they belong to, instead using the abilites as a springboard for a fully fleshed out character. I do tend towards magic and psionics users, however.

I only played it once, though i did a lot of character creating. I tended to go with a cleric-dwarf, but with some extra points put into my mace and speeck skills. So i could both talk my way out of fights and go the other way if necessary.

Neutral Evil Human Wizard yo!

Once I hit level 11 i'll be going all Lich on your ass. A well prepared Wizard is invincible, and don't you forget it!

In days of yore (1st & early 2nd Editions) I'd usually play a thief, occasionally switching to a fighter if more killing/less trap springing (and pocket picking) was necessary.

When we left 3.5 I was rather successful at playing a warlock (who had some Cthulhu-ish backstory that never got a chance to come into play) as they used touch-attacks which are a boon to a player with a terminal case of Bad Dice Luck?.

Since hitting 4th edition last year I've played a warlord. We're about to start up a new low-magic campaign (ala Iron Heroes) so only martial classes and primal magic (which isn't sounding too appealing in the world we'll be in...might lead to too many incidents of the party running from yet another witch hunt.) Still not sure what I'll play, maybe a fighter or something from the Martial Power book (or PH2 if I get it before we start playing.)
