A fucking Rhydon, god knows how many times I had to reload as a kid to catch the legendary birds with bloody ultra balls, which is an absolute ***** as you to get the down to thier lowest percentage of health and then make sure they are assleep or frozen and then maybe, MAYBE they won't break out for the 47th fucking time in a row. Still worth it :).
Oh, yeah, I remember doing that too... I too wasted my masterball on a Rhydon... but that was back when I had yellow version, as a kid. And your right, catching those birds was really a pain, but totally worth it.

Ahhh... memories....

What is this nonsense, do people not know you can have damn near infinite of them? Though, when I do play legitimately, I try to save it for something fucking loopy. I'll pack plenty of the other balls to catch the big guys. Caught several of the legendaries with a normal Pokeball, haha. Talk about demeaning. Or scary as fuck to other trainers, who see the normal ball and think "yeah, I can take this!" and then get smeared across the road by something nigh on uncatchable.

I havent used my masterball yet in HeartGold, but I fully intend on using it to catch a Rattata.

I always made sure to use in on the roaming legendaries. If I know where I'll find the Pokemon, I can always try again later, but if it's one of the roaming legendaries I'll leave Master Balls in reserve. When I bumped into a Latios, I was ready. :D

I...uh, well you see...I've never played Pokemon.

No I was not kept in a box for my childhood (I likened it more to a small paddock). We did have Wiggles band-aids though, the only proof that your parents truly loved you.

I kept my Masterball. Didn't ever need to use it. Even that Mewtwo fell before a paltry Ultraball despite being at nearly full health. Fun!

My first playthrough I didn't even find the Master Ball, killed Kyogre, had a level 70something that when I got to the Elite Four and no other even remotely decent Pokémon. Restarted because it was such a fuck up.

I got a Skarmory in Silver like, maybe over 10 years ago? I was young and I liked Skarmory. I also caught Lugia though...I just don't remember how >_>

The first time playing I didn't really grasp what it was, so I used it on a Shellder. -__-

Now I hold on to my Masterballs and save them in case I find a shiny Pokemon.

I have a whole bunch of them because I never liked using them, using them felt like such a waste so I traded them across games. The roaming ones were kinda worth it (Entie, Suicine, Riakou, Latios, Latias, Cressellia, Tornadus, Thunderus etc.)

Although I did once meet a guy who thought the whole purpose of the game was to exhaust an area of pokemon - a kinda literal Gotta catch em all. And progressed through the game but always heading back to to Veridian forest trying to catch EVERY pokemon in the area until no more would appear. I think he used the Masterball on a Weedle
Did it work for him?
Can you imagine how upset you would be if it didn't!

"The masterball failed to catch the wild Weedle"

In Red/Blue....everything I missed. Cause I cheated.
Though if I did not, likely Mewtwo.
In Gold/Silver/Crystal, a legendary dog, usually Suicine, due to them roving around. Catching Ho-oh and Lugia is hard...but atleast they stay in one spot.
Never used it in Gen 3 (Ruby/Saphire/Emerald) yet though, but likely either Rayquaza (Emerald) or one of the two poster pokemon.
Or maybe a tough shiney.
