I recently started to post on this forum, but have been a member for some time. Really don't care about post count. I't just a number..

It just means they like these forums. To me anyway. I've been here a good while, but I don't have many post counts. I love this community, but I'm more of a reader than someone who adds to things. Though I do like to post my opinion, get into good conversations, and whatnot.

Two things:

1- I didn't know it kept track of post numbers until about a week or two ago.
2- I just realised right now that it says it right there under the avatar.

This is me paying attention to the world around me.

I still think 39k posts is impressive, even if a large portion of them are forum games.
I'm not sure that impressive is the right word, you should not have the goal of a high post count.

The amount of times someone has posted on a topic/created one.
Coming from someone who has 4 posts... :I

How little a life someone or I have.

Really I don't really notice it, but when I do it just tells me they're an active member of the forums and like to contribute (and in a positive way to get so many posts with being banned)

Oh I don't have a goal of racking up a huge number of posts, but I am still impressed by things that take a great deal of time.
Kind of like many of the ridiculous projects in Minecraft. I tried building giant things (I built a 100 x 100 x 50 glass pyramid with a lava floor covered in glass, and water streaming down the sides) but never to the scale of <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/9.274723-Minecraft-Enterprise-update#10635778>the USS Enterprise or <url=http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/7.303208-Minecraft-Middle-Earth-Will-Melt-Your-Mind#12132583>Middle Earth. Just because I don't intend to match it, doesn't mean it that it cannot impress me.

A post count under about 50ish can sometimes mean the difference when deciding whether or not someone is trolling, although that standard has its flaws as well.

Beyond that, nothing.

Generally if someone says something stupid and they have a low post count I may just ignore them. If they have a higher count and should know better I might call them out on it. Also useful for spotting trolls and spam-bots.

Generally I don't refer to it often. I have been here for a while now and my count isn't high so I realise you don't need to have posted crazy amounts to be a part of the community.

You know, the combination of my join date and post count is actually rather embarrassing.
You joined 11 days before me. I have under 300 posts, you have over 6000...

OT: It doesn't matter too much to me. Making a post isn't hard.

I think above 1000 and I'm likely to recognise that person from around, and pay a little more attention to them on threads pertaining to the Escapist. When it comes to opinion on anything non-Escapist related, it means no more to me really. Some of the best posts I've ever seen have been from 200-something posters.
That being said, I'm hoping I can get my 1000 soon, as I've been slowly ramping up my presence here, and it'd be nice to have some numbers to show that.

Ha-ha! This thread I'd another chance to add to my all-important post count!
It means little to me, really. Sometimes I'm about to post in a thread and realise it reaches the most pointless something can be on the Internet. Y'see in this case I got to make a little joke and less importantly, express an opinion so:

Yay.

Well before this place exploded having a post over 1k was like the god's gift to the world.

But now having a post count over 10k doesn't seem that special anymore.

So not much.

Idle milestones for random things, though most of them are only milestones for silly buggers, badges, and pretend self importance.

A chance to get the Neo badge. Also as a sign of how often people post here, and possibly how well known they are within the community. I mostly judge people according to their avatars though.
I'm judging you based on your avatar.

....and I am judging you as AWESOME.

If it's formatted in inches, centimetres, millimetres, or anything bigger, then I'd like you to know I DO NOT WANT.

Well ever since I went past 3000 posts I've felt like more of a regular around these parts. I don't make inflammatory posts, I don't have a distinctive name/avatar. I'm just sorta......there.....in the back........
