Except for the multiplayer connection issues, I agree with you.
They were no worse than the issues in MW2, and MoH is still the beta. But yeah, I do hope they manage to do something about it.
I meant the Kane and Lynch demo, that froze up on me a few times. Never pre-ordered MoH, so I didn't get a beta.

Customisation. I know it's really superficial, but I just really like it. Also, local co-op, preferably four-player, is often the feature that sells it to me.

Also when I heard that Far Cry 2 had persistent deaths in terms of buddies, when they die they die forever, I didn't realise how heartbreaking it would be to shoot a buddy in the head to re leave their pain though, I felt like I'd murdered a brother and I thought I was a monster.

Assassin's Creed: Stabbing people. I'm not sure I even knew about the free-running before I played the game. But the idea of playing a 13th century assassin had me hooked.

Ever since Starsiege Tribes, I've been an easy mark for anyone offering a jetpack (or jump-pack) and guns.

Ever since Quake I and II mods, including Weapons Factory (TF-knockoff), it's been the same with grappling hooks.

Aside from Worms, no game has married the two. But if they do... *unsettling sex noise*

The writing/voices in Team Fortress 2. The art style made me take a closer look, but once I heard the characters talking, I had to buy it.

For whatever reason, the fact that there are classes in Final Fantasy XIV dedicated to crafts and stuff really has me wanting that game.

Ouch, that's a tough one.

Well, I would like to say past experiences. For example, when I just started playing WoW, I was a gleeful skippy puppy at the sight of every new expansion since. The same goes for Portal 2.

Shadow of the Colossus - Every single screenshot. The exploration and the ridiculously cool enemies.

I suppose they could both be summed up as the scale of that game. Ambitious and awesome.

I didn't have any issues with the Kane and Lynch demo, although I can confess I've probably only played through it twice.

I didn't actually pre-orde MoH, I found a video on YouTube that let me get it for free. I mean... no, I got it properly... *shifty eyes*

The single player worked fine, but it took me five tries to get to the multiplayer, and three of those times it froze. That said, it was very fun once I did play it.

With Bioshock, it was because of the concept alone. Underwater city, shoot stuff out of your hands, scuba suited behemoths. Then I got engaged in the story and ended up finishing it. Awesome game.

With Starcraft, it was the Zerg, mostly.

With WoW, well, I had been obsessed with Warcraft, and nothing sounded cooler than traveling Azeroth in an adventurer's shoes.

Any game with a good character customization AND implementation.
That's why I lvoed Modnation Racers: Because you can create a character AND see them in cut-scenes.
I liked Soul Calibur 4 because I can give all my girl characters big boobs.
