Crystallis was my first major gaming experience (given to me on same Christmas as Mom bought our NES)... but it was only an afternoon hobby until my first real gem fell into my hands.

(To bastardize a quote from Scotty, from his TNG episode...)
"Final Fantasy. No bloody II, III, IV, VII, or other numeral."

Pick four adventurers. Name them. And the world is yours, one mode of transport at a time.

My first party was the standard Fighter, Thief, White, and Black... But I think I had the most fun with the Black Belt and Black Mage twins set. A quick double cast of FAST, and the Black Belts were melee masters... and then just mop up with the Mages.

By my third or fourth playthrough I'd heard about the Power Level Peninsula (a 3x2 space where the monsters were calculated from the tables of the next continent to the north... WAY above the normally available Ogres and Creeps. ZomBulls, GrOgres, and Ogres by the screenful, perfect to grind through the EXP and GOLD needed for growing casters. I think I hiked out there for a good week, slowly incresing the number of Tents I could bring along to make the trips last longer.

I'd played on a friend's Atari as a kid and I played SMB and a few other games on the family's NES for fun, but Final Fantasy was the turning point for me... I knew I had my life-long hobby, even at the age of thirteen. Sadly, the poster-sized map/creature index literally fell apart from being folded and unfolded so many times over the years.

Chrono Trigger started it all for me and still remains one of my most favorite games ever.

I think Super Mario bros 3 for the NES back in '94. I was 4 years old.

I've been gaming ever since. I'm 21.

Back when I was about 6, my friend introduced me to the first Command and Conquer game. I've been a PC gamer and a fan of RTS's ever since :)

The original Mortal Kombat, it was at my local rec-center and after swimming and other gay shit like that I'd hit up the machine and work anyone willing to play me. It led to me getting a genesis and the rest is a history of me jumping consoles based on which one was going to get the best version of Mortal Kombat/Street Fighter, until I hit the PSX and discovered Final Fantasy. Thus was an RPG addict born.

The original Legend of Zelda on the NES really spurred my interest in playing games. I had played a LOT of Atari and calecovision but the NES sealed the deal!

I think it might have been either Battletoads or Ocarina of time. Both involved me hanging with my cousins

my family had always had games, since I was a kid. Atari 2600, Commodore 64, NES, genesis.. I had always played games as a means of wasting time. but, the one game that got me over the fence from someone who plays games to being an avid gamer, was Lunar: Silver Star Story. the game made me realize that they can be more than just something that can kill time.

I would have to say that my first game that got me into gaming is Super Mario Bros. 3. I still play it to this day now and again.

Can't remember ever not being into gaming, but Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening was probably my first. Other than that, the original Tomb Raider piqued my interest in consoles. Honourable mentions to Timesplitters 2 and Metal Gear Solid 2 as well.

I guess i was around.. 4 or something, when i was introduced to the LucasArts Games. MI 1+2, Zak, Loom and ofcourse Mr. Jones. My father was playin' them back them and i was always watching him, so he incorporated me in his gaming.
Even though i was able to read back then, he had to read the text's for me out loud because they disappeard kinda fast. So in the end MonkeyIsland was more of a veeeeeeery long goodnight story for me^^
But even more strange was, that at the same time i played Ecolopoli. 100% on the first lvl, that's an achievment :)

Also i had the chance to play both Amiga2000 and Atari during the age of 4-8, though i can't remember one name of any of these games xD
And with the age of 7+ i started playing Transport Tycoon, followed by Railrood Tycoon, Age of Empires, Halflife aaaand Diablo at the Age of 10/11.
Diablo was also the game, where i started to learn english by myself, so i could understand wtf was going on.

And we had an SNES, so i also had the pleasure to play the first MarioKart, SensibleSoccer and Bomberman.

Jeah, i really grew up with games. I basically got games through the baby bottle.

The game that changed everything for me;

The first game that made me realize that videogames could have a real story behind them, even without words being spoken.
