I really cant remember what the first game I played was. My first home computer game was Batman on the C64 but the game that made me take notice of what could be done and play them for a hobby rather than for short entertainment was Super Mario Bros for the NES I still play it now and again as part of the all star collection on the SNES.

I played my first game when I was about two or three, but the first time I really 'got into' gaming was my fifth, possibly sixth, birthday when my parents gave me a Gameboy Color and Pokémon Red and Blue.

That got me interested in it, though not seriously enough to start playing properly. Instead I'd watch my dad play through various FPSs, pointing out enemies he'd not noticed and remembering where there was health stashed and such. The first serious game I played by myself was Morrowind, and I haven't stopped since.

So many young'uns! *d'awwwww*

OT: Probably Treasure Island Dizzy, or even AD&D, back on the Amiga, and C64 respectively. Think I was about 4 or 5 at the time, so the idea of being able to control an egg on screen was like fucking magic to me.

The Mystic Quest for the gameboy
i´m Dutch and back then i was 5 so i couldn´t understand a word about what was going on
yet i loved it so much, the adventure, the enemies, the music, THE GODDAMN OASIS PUZZLE THAT TOOK ME 3 YEARS TO SOLVE.
i found and finished the game about a year ago and the final boss was piss easy, i spend 3 years killing monster in an oasis so i was pretty overpowered...

For me it was the original Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega Genesis. That game got me into the Sonic series and into gaming in general. I still own copy and a system to this day.

In the late 90's I started to get into PC gaming with Doom and SimCity but I still regularly gamed on console.

At the turn of the millennium I played Half-Life for the first time and decided to jump into PC gaming with both feet. I couldn't afford a prebuilt gaming computer but my parents had sent me to an A+ summer class where I learned to build my own. About six months after the class I had saved up enough money to build my first gaming computer. I went to LAN parties, played a lot of FPSs, RPGs, and dabbed into RTSs.

Today I own a 360 and my gaming PC and play on both regularly. Taking that A+ class helped get me into the IT industry where I currently work. If it wasn't for an interest in PC gaming I probably would have never taken that class. If it wasn't for Sonic I might not have been into gaming. The way I see it that little blue hedgehog got me to where I am today. Life's funny that way.

I'd have to say B-17 Bomber on the Intellvision - with the Intellivoice module no less. At least that's the one that comes to mind as having the biggest impact for me...
