1st game that got me excited about gaming was Ultima: Exodus for the NES or the "Famicom" for you older individuals.
1st game that really got me into visuals and PC gaming was EF2000 and when I say PC I mean DOS... made me giggle when I wiki searched it and saw the PC specs needed at the time.
apparently they made a version 2.0 after a few years that was compatible with win 95 and 98

On a side note I have to say that was my first experience with DOS when I was a kid, god it took forever to figure out how to make a boot disk for that damn game.
I didn't actually become a proper gamer until I played Pokemon Diamond when I was 17. I played video games before that but I never really enjoyed them.
Probably Sonic the Hedgehog (the master system one, not the good one people know and love with Starlight Zone in it), Mario All Stars, Wonderboy, or maybe the first real game device i owned, Super Mario Land on the Gameboy.
Whilst I've played games since the Atari 2600, I was never really "into" them tbh. It was Gran Turismo 3 that I bought on a whim that really got me into gaming. It gave me proof that spending time on a game and having the ability to save and get rewards from extended periods of play that made me realise my time spent having fun was worthwhile. It also allowed me better value from the game and all the other games I'd managed to literally just complete the story..
