The Death card generally stands for change, and it depends on the other cards around it as to what will change and whether it will be for the better or for the worse. I've found that the Tower is a much scarier card than Death, it actually stands for a sudden or shocking event.
simply put they mean what ever you tell them to mean, there's no set meaning. the oringal meanings were lost a long time ago, say around oct 13 1307 or so

it's just a fun parlour trick much like a ouija board is

It gets my goat when my shift at work starts on the same morning my last one ended...

I don't mean to get off topic, but didn't tarot cards eventually become what today's playing cards are?

actually they went from being playing cards, to adding the majour arcana, the fancy named cards that have no suit, and then removing them again and changing the suits to what we know today

one of the persistent legends of the majour arcana were ways for the knights templar to teach people their philosophies and lessons and keep it a bit secret and hidden as they traveled, especially after they were "disbanded" on friday oct 13 1307. after seeing several sets of them, i really have little doubt that story doesn't have a lot of truth to it, a few of the cards have blatant references to both the knights templar and the freemasons

I crack my toe knuckles when i stub them and then grit my teeth

I forgot 10 year olds who play M rated games, and even more 10 years olds who play them online...even WORSE is when the don't shut up...even WORSE-er is when they beat you *sob*
and people who breath into their mics
and 13 year olds who say stuff like "getting lots of chics and parties"
and 13 year olds that get drunk.
Amen to those, now I gotta say when people are playing online and realized "Holy shit, a girl is here!" and they actually say it out loud! Now recently my goat was gotten in the most ball tickling way, I was playing Naruto Rise of a Ninja and I just started watching the show, (Hopefully you will know what I'm talking about if not I lose 30 hood points) I'm at the part where i'm the 9-tailed fox fighting Gaara in his gigantic sand monster form, I have not enjoyed a boss battle like that since Bowser in Mario 64. (yes I have played games since 1996 that was just the most ENJOYABLE, by that I don't mean easy I just mean I wish I could do it over and over but I can't) Anyway I win the fight and expect that all the cool shit happens now then I watch a fairly lengthy cutscene and it goes to the fucking credits! What the hell?! How can Ubisoft make one of the greatest anime games EVER and just pull my nuts off to use them as Sam Fishers new accessories!!! Fuck you Naruto!

man dont i know how that feels:(
whats worse for me is that i have two bros, one 10, one 17, the 17 yr old uses "ghetto" vocab and uses the stupidest words for the simplest of sentences and the nyou have the 10 yr old picking up these words, i cringe everytime my bro calls me and says "hey mat come and see this, this is sick".
*shudders*
and related to that, what is up with the ghetto speech? why cant ppl talk normally? i aint no ones "blud", "bredrin", "N-word", pisses me off to the max, i actually tell ppl who talk to me like that if they would be so kind as to speak english lol.
People who tell me they enjoy Reppin' Wolf Town also annoy me.
its "reppin L-Town massive" over here(Luton town)
I feel your pain.

What gets my goat are people who think it's funny to be rude or cruel to other people. If you have to tear someone else down to build yourself up, you have real self-esteem issues. Just be yourself and let everyone else be themselves.

hehe both the pentagram/pentacle are funny and i've mentioned what the actual real meaning behind it is

as for tarot that's an even odder story but it has nothing to do with fortune telling, as far as i can tell it has more to do with the knights templar and the freemasons than telling your future

as for the canadian justice system, yeah they've been trying to tweak and change the youth offenders act for a while, it's stupid retards and their precious little crotch fruit that are stopping anything serious from happening, they don't want their little snowflakes punished too much cause they're so precious and unique just like all the other kids

as for the welfare system, that's provincial and ontario doesn't allow the whole welfare baby factory anymore, if you can't/won't find a job they cut you off
Nothing will be changed with the young offenders act. Canada is very much a "liberal" country. Now I'm not a hardcore conservative, but I think like one when it comes to justice. These "slaps on the wrist" are not doing anything to curb this kind of problem with young people. If people actually gave a damn about their kids and what they do, I doubt things would escalate like they are. Then again, I believe that if you've clearly shown that you cant live in society and follow its rules, you should be put in exile. Set up some camp or something in the north on an ice flow.

And about welfare...Manitoba is "supposed" to have "work for welfare" or something to that effect. Clearly it doesn't, or at least its not enforced. My sister in law is definitely not being told to get off her duff and get a job. Neither are a LOT of people living in this town.

Texting in general pisses me off, if you want to talk to me and have my number, call me dammit!

Stereotypical teenagers - Im in high school right now, and many of the people I go to school with piss me off to no end.

anything to do with me not looking my age. Im 17 and I look 14, for some reason people feel the need to remind me of this.

most of the other things that come to mind right now have already been said.

I'm willing to believe that meanings were transferred orally. Just because the group disbanded doesn't mean their teachings were lost. Especially since there are chapters of Freemasons and Knights Templar still meeting today.

P.S, I come from a Masonic family.

yes but the freemasons are unsure of the exact past they have, it's shrouded in mystery, even to them and the knights templar that are around today only share the name of the ancient order of knights we all know and love

so the original meaning of the tarot have been lost over the years, much like the origins of the masons and their rituals, it's one of the downsides to a strictly oral tradition

ps i am a mason and i've done some research

The USA is much the same. Supposedly welfare has ended, but there are so many assistance programs that a woman with a dependent doesn't have to work; they just get shuttled between programs. And where we do choose to crack down is strange, too. There were two early twenty-somethings caught red-handed robbing the District Attorney's house a few years back. They were armed with loaded, stolen weapons (12 Gage shotgun and .357 magnum revolver) and when their homes were searched, stolen goods from about a dozen burglaries were found. They received probation. Meanwhile I know three people who have done a couple months for possession of marijuana, admittedly out of a dozen or so busted for possession. I'm no fan of getting stoned, but come on, it's got to be better than armed burglary.

EDIT: Cheeze, if the moderator closes the thread you're not in the middle of it, you're at the end! Just past the end, now that I think of it.

Wow, it's rare that I meet a random Mason... seriously. You're the second random Mason I've met this year alone. Most of the time I get the "wtf is a Mason?" response, lol.

You're not too far off, that's one of the definitions of the word, lol. But we're referring to Freemasons. Which I think cleverlymadeup will be better at explaining. I'm only a Rainbow Girl, which means that they don't divulge secrets to us, so it's hard for me to actually explain what Freemasonry is, lol. My little section, Rainbow Girls, was created by a Freemason as a group for their daughters to learn the religious views of their fathers. Sadly, the Rainbow Girls lessons are mostly "This is what a woman should do. NO ARGUMENTS!" but I did come away from them with a few valuable things...

My grandfather, a Freemason, is also a sheet metal worker, so you're darn close. But I'm not entirely sure of the link between the two.

things that get my goat...
SNIPERS in fps games, your just walking along and BANG you die.
people that get an army from somewhere in seconds and kill all your builders and gatherers in strategy games ><
and people that try to catch all the pokemon.... something is wrong with them.
And NPCs that have perfect aim at 9000 yards when your behind cover and never need to reload or run out of ammo or come out of hiding.

The free masons were originally a group of stone masons who met a pubs and such to share they're secrets of trade. Eventually, they made this 'Boys club for men', as it is sometimes referred to because of it's initiation rites, secret codes, and some central secret that keeps them all together.

Wow, I didn't have to get this thread off topic.

actually no they weren't, the pub part is even wrong, that's the grand lodge of england. the real reason or history is lost unfortunately, one theory is they are the modern version of the knights templar who went into hiding more or less after friday oct 13 1307. the first lodges were in scotland, the english pub lodges copied them and removed most of the jacobian stuff from the ritual

but to answer the question of who the freemasons are they are a group of gentlemen that get together and try to help one another become better men, husbands, fathers and members of society. they also do a lot of charity work and donations, mostly anonymous, the more public side is know as the shriners

Weeeeeeeeeel I only know what I've seen on the discovery channel and read in the Davinchi Code...
And only one of those sources is refutable.
I'm not telling you which one though...
