I don't know enough about keurig but from what I've seen basically nespresso? Or is it closer to filter coffee?
You leave the pod sealed, it gets punctured on both ends by the device when you close the lid, and hot water is forced through it into your cup, so I'd venture to guess it's closer to Nespresso.

Yeah, wasteful but not quite as dumb as $700 dollar device that just moves juice from one container to another. The machine is still actually doing something. If it is similar to nespresso, making Espresso strength coffee, then it is presumably A) using a lot of pressure and B) that pressure is actually needed to get a proper extraction in short period.

Update: today I learned I have covid. Tested before visiting family just in case and it came back positive.

The world lives by prison rules. Every moment. Every look in someone's eye. You'll die for sitting outside your race. You'll die over a pack of Doritos.

Now I wonder who the CO's actually are?

Ok, curiosity got the better of me; after I made cup of Keurig coffee this morning, I tore back the K-cup lid and turns out... it's regular coffee grounds.

So Keurig's practicality: instead of using a [standard] 12-cup carafe, a 12-cup filter for a single cup of coffee then the hassle of cleaning it all when you're done, use a single serving of grounds and no filter for your single cup in a few seconds, and the only cleanup is tossing the spent pod in the trash.

Yeah, that sounds at worst unnecessary but somewhat convenient.

"Seventy percent of households in the United States owned one or more pets in 2020."

What. The. Hell. I'll never understand it. Had the impression that nearly everyone had at least one, but this isn't too far off.

Plants are the new pets, pets are the new kids.

John Madden passed away yesterday. I didn't learn this until a few moments ago. I never got into the games that bear his iconic name, but I've been a football fan for over 30 years, and the man is the legend of legends. I still can't believe it. Everyone has their favorite team; everyone has teams they hate. As with any sport, those lines divide the masses, but everyone, I mean EVERYONE loved John Madden, and this is a very sad day indeed.

RIP to the face and attitude of football. We miss you already, Big Guy. Think I might have a turkey leg for dinner tonight.

In Ancient times someone wrote a spoof of the Illiad called Batrachomyomachia, or the Battle of Frogs and Mice. It's apparently a similar plot and just as violent, but it's armies of Frogs and Mice killing each other.

Just in case you thought that the Disney animated version of Robin Hood invented furry adaptations of classic literature.

“I reached the pinnacle of success in the business world. In others’ eyes, my life is an epitome of success.

However, aside from work, I have little joy. In the end, wealth is only a fact of life that I am accustomed to.

At this moment, lying on the sick bed and recalling my whole life, I realize that all the recognition and wealth that I took so much pride in, have paled and become meaningless in the face of impending death.

In the darkness, I look at the green lights from the life supporting machines and hear the humming mechanical sounds, I can feel the breath of god of death drawing closer …

Now I know, when we have accumulated sufficient wealth to last our lifetime, we should pursue other matters that are unrelated to wealth …

Should be something that is more important:

Perhaps relationships, perhaps art, perhaps a dream from younger days

Non-stop pursuing of wealth will only turn a person into a twisted being, just like me.

God gave us the senses to let us feel the love in everyone’s heart, not the illusions brought about by wealth.

The wealth I have won in my life I cannot bring with me. What I can bring is only the memories precipitated by love.

That’s the true riches which will follow you, accompany you, giving you strength and light to go on.

Love can travel a thousand miles. Life has no limit. Go where you want to go. Reach the height you want to reach. It is all in your heart and in your hands.

What is the most expensive bed in the world?

Sick bed …

You can employ someone to drive the car for you, make money for you but you cannot have someone to bear the sickness for you.

Material things lost can be found. But there is one thing that can never be found when it is lost — Life.

When a person goes into the operating room, he will realize that there is one book that he has yet to finish reading — Book of Healthy Life.

Whichever stage in life we are at right now, with time, we will face the day when the curtain comes down.

Treasure Love for your family, love for your spouse, love for your friends.

Treat yourself well. Cherish others.”

No this was not written by Steve Jobs, but I thought it was pretty insightful.

Today I wondered to myself if there's such a thing as green stars, since we got blue, yellow and red.

Sadly, there aren't. Not naturally occurring at least, and this is apparently physically impossible, even if you were to change the universal constants.

Today I learned that the main character in Kung Fu comedy film Kung Pow: Enter The Fist was not Kevin Nealon (left), but was in fact Steve Oedekerk (right), a guy I've never heard of.

Learned about how transformers (not the fun kind) work and what they meant for the development of civilization. Tesla doesn't get enough credit.

But also pretty annoyed that my professor took an hour and a half to explain a concept that I'm pretty sure would take some YouTuber 10 minutes to explain just as well.
