So for boring and stupid reasons I felt the need to buy a second hand laptop. It was a Lenovo P50 workstation, cost $500 and was specced thus:

Intel i7 6820HQ 2.70GHz
32GB RAM
512GB SSD
Quadro M400 4GB
15.6" FHD
Win 10

There’s also a spinning rust disk in there but as soon as I’ve used for its main purpose I’m ripping it out and putting my old 2TB 2.5 inch SSD in its place.

And as I pondered what to do with it afterwards - I was planning a Linux test bench - I checked my wife’s laptop. And despite her CPU being a generation newer, this thing kicks its arse in every possible way. The CPU is a quad core as opposed to a dual core, it’s got four times as much RAM, double the main storage space and a proper 1080p screen. I was fucking stunned.

So guess who’s getting a new(ish) laptop?
You sure about that CPU? A gen 6 I7? I think Intel is on gen 14? The rest of your specs sound a lot newer.

I'm very positive, since I've booted the machine up and all that. These things are ex-workstation replacement units. Presumably for design work, hence the Quadro cards. They're just ridiculously overspecced.

I bought a 32 inch 1080p television and a special mounting bracket so I can play DragonAge II. Yeah, I spent like $300 bucks on a set-up so I can play a PS3 game xD

Lone Wolf and Cub, Omnibus 1 and 2. Manga that ran from 1970 to '76.

I was worried about the size. I guess it's fine. You get used to it. Still would have liked them much bigger than 5 x 7 inches, in the original 28 volume format instead of twelve fat books.

Watched the Criterion Blu-rays a few years ago.

The main reason why this is taking so long is because of the intricate details and patterns. Monotonous as hell, but holy shit did they nailed all of that. Probably finishing it tomorrow or the day after.

That fire in 2019 hurt me, because i always wanted to go. Apparently they are re-opening soon, though
