Bought my gf a lapis lazuli necklace.

Apparently Chile is big in lapis mining, like second or third in the world, although they get uppity about Afghan lapis lazuli.

Bought her a copper magnet for the collection.

A clay piggy that has three legs from an old legend.

I also bought a new, mildly fancy (for me) phone because Chile is comically cheap next to Argentina. The same model back home is currently 2 to 3 times more expensive. This only really works if you pay cash, since card companies will charge 60% tax on international payments.

Question for people, where the fuck do you buy sunglasses?

I just got contact lenses for the first time, and I need to buy a pair of sunglasses. All of the sunglasses I've had since I was 10 years old have been prescription and cost like $400, so I don't know where people just buy regular sunglasses.

I went to walmart and the sunglasses there are like $15 and feel absolutely terrible to hold. They feel cheap and shitty. Go to Nordstrom and sunglasses are like $200+. Similar prices to getting prescription, but with fewer features.

Where does one go to get a decent pair of sunglasses for like $75?

I don't want to buy online because I'd like to be able to try them on an make sure they actually fit my face.

I usually stick to gas stations or specific dollar stores like Family Dollar, Dollar Tree 🌳 or Dollar Village (exclusive to Michigan).
You beat me to it.
My boy used to buy very expensive sunglasses until he realized 1) He is always losing them and 2) gas station glasses can do the job pretty well.

Well, my 10 year old motherboard gave up the ghost a couple of weeks ago so I got this thing.1000021192.jpg

£450. Used my old 1K power supply and 6GB 1060 plus my old hard drive as a sevondary. On getting it all plugged in and started up I did realise that I didn't ask them to put my old DVD RW in so I'm going to gave to get a portable one to install my old copy of office. Dammit

Are you insane? Who spends $400 on sunglasses?? If you're talking about transition lenses, prescription glasses that darken in the sun, okay, but if not, see my first question.

I went to walmart and the sunglasses there are like $15 and feel absolutely terrible to hold. They feel cheap and shitty.
Because they ARE cheap and shitty. It's Walmart; your expectations should have plummeted the second you crossed the threshold. Also, they're just sunglasses.

If you catch me spending more than $20 on sunglasses, I'm probably drunk and don't realize what I'm doing. Every pair I've ever owned was purchased either at a CVS, or from a gas station because I lost a pair I got at a CVS.

Finally went and purchased a bunch of blu-rays I've been meaning to get, many of which weren't released in this region. I'm guessing the ones I got from China aren't legit but it's the only place you can get them from.
-Daredevil Season 1 (from UK)
-Jessica Jones Season 1 (from UK)
-Luke Cage Season 1 (from UK)
-Legion Complete Series (from China)
-Altered Carbon Complete Series (I couldn't just get season 1) (from China)
-Scream Queens Complete Series (again, I couldn't just get season 1) (from China)
-Star Trek: Lower Decks Complete Series
-Terminator
-The Mummy trilogy (I just want the 1st 2 as I recall the 3rd one sucking)

You can just open the case and temporary plug in the dvd drive to install something, unless you actually need it regularly. Back in the day, I had my internal dvd writer outside my desktop (with the old ribbon cable and everything) because my Sony VAIO desktop case was proprietary and didn't allow normal sized drives in the tower.

Whatever, just wash your hands.
Another R-type figure. Managed to get it for the original price not the ridiculous price.

Nice prescription sunglasses are expensive when they're polarized, have anti-glare coatings, scratch resistant, etc. That price tag does hurt less when most of it gets covered by insurance. The prescription sunglasses that I currently have are black powder coated titanium and feel nice on my face.

People who like nice things. I'm going to be using them every day, I'd like for them to feel good to use. Also I don't lose things. I've literally never lost a pair of sunglasses in my life, so any sunglasses I buy are going to be with me for a decade+ until they break.

Even if you had asked them; if that was the case on offer they wouldn’t have done it because the case doesn’t support them. But, as long as you have the CD Key, you should be able to just get the installer from Microsoft’s website.

But yeah it bugs me I can’t buy external enclosures for old DVD or BRD drives. I’ve been looking high and low for one so I can use my old BluRay Drive

Just checked and sadly mine is from 2007, so it's not available. Good lord... that's nearly 20 years ago...

I bought a Rolife product; A miniature set builders using wood pieces. Specifically, the eifle tower model:

The concept itself is nice, but because the pieces are made of thin pieces of woods (unsure if they come from plywood or actual cuts), the pieces constantly snapped; It's such a paradox to the fact that you are supposed to make each pieces "click", which often requires some amount of force.

At some point, the unclear direction made me snap a very noticeable piece, and I decided to smash it into pieces and scrap them.

I am usually very paitent and keep my composure with assembly builds, but not this one. Safe to say I will NEVER touch another Rolife product again. Maybe I lack skills and dexterity to do this, maybe the product itself was faulty, but it's clear that I am not meant to do build these models.
