So, yeah, that's what's going down in London and the rest of the UK at the moment (why the hell is there rioting in Birmingham and Liverpool?!)

Because its Loverpool I thought that was enough of a reason.

Its rapidly going up the country, mostly just opportunists either looking for an excuse to steal stuff or out for a "buzz".

Thats a major problem with this, prisons are already massively over-crowded, and this REALLY wouldn't help.

day 1 - protest that was meant to be peace full went south, shit went down, tits went up, bombs went off...
day 2 - people notices what good fun everyone had had the previous night had had so they joined in
day 3 - people in other cities noticed that people were having fun and decided that they wanted to have some too but couldn't make it to london, so they decided to fuck up their own cities instead.

my time line might be wrong, but what do i know, im a 16 - 25 year old white British male, i don't have an IQ, just an urge to fuck up everyone's shit and rob pointless things.

This is going to get a lot worse.
The chavs and general pond scum have now seen that the police can't (or won't) stop them.

A few stories have them beating on the thieves (deservedly imho).

What we're going to end up with is people attacking the thugs to defend themselves.

No, it's not the public. It's a small portion of the public. People wouldn't keep saying 'I'm ashamed of being British today' if people didn't keep generalising like that.

O.T. The government are being idiots and doing uncountable numbers of idiotic moves. Oh, you mean this week? Someone was shot for threatening an armed officer of the law, and then people were pissed for some reason. Then the upset was used as an excuse for chavs to burgle and riot. Mostly the burglary bit, though.

Long story short; a known criminal waved a replica gun at police officers, and the police officers, not knowing it was a replica (how could they, really?) shot him. His family staged a peaceful protest outside the station as the police were being vague about it all, then it got hijacked by rioters, then the idea that looting shops and stuff would be fun spread and now everyone is doing it for...some reason. I'm not sure what, but I'm guessing it has something to do with the fact that they want an HD TV and don't want to pay for it and hey look, that electronics shop has just had its window smashed, let's go there!

I am sure sure already mentioned this to you but the gun had actually been real and that they removed a spent round from a police radio.

Some people that need more lead in their system imo. I believe that once a protesters start rioting and looting shops then you announce that the next looters seen will be shot on sight. That should sober up the situation nice and quick.
