Hmm. Anyone who immediately dismisses an entire genre of music needs their head examined.

I hate country. But even there's the occasional song that I find rather enjoyable.

There IS a lot of crappy rap and hip-hop out there. But there's still a healthy number of most excellent music out there, too.

But you probably won't see it on MTV, that's for sure...just like you won't find decent country on CMT, most of the time...

Anything by Pitbull or Lil' Jon or one featuring the other. Although I have to admit they're perfect for clubs.

I've heard very good rap in my time.

Of course, that doesn't mean that most of it isn't shit. Although I could say that for almost e very genre of music, except maybe classical because we tend to get only the good ones from all the centuries past.

As for annoying rap songs, I hate Soulja boy and all he stands for.

I agree with you there, you can't dismiss a whole genre just because its mostly shit. In rap thier are some gems in their by classic artists like NWA(who were comprised of the likes of Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, and Dr. Dre), Biggie, 2-Pac, and thiers also some good songs by more modern artists Like Eminem, Kayne West, and Jay-Z.

Er... All of them?

There are a few stand outs. Namely, the ones that blatantly steal from other songs, such as the Black-Eyed Peas' "Boom Boom Pow" stealing from "Boom" by Pod, and all those stupid Rappers paying royalties so they can "Rappify" previously good songs to make a quick buck off them.

Also, I don't know the song, by the lyrics that really killed me were "Do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips." That struck me as possibly the WORST lyrics in any song ever. There's even a song called "The Fish Head Song", and THAT has better lyrics.
Firstly, Helen Keller didn't talk with her "Hips", she talked with her hands. You know, bloody sign language? Secondly, what the hell do you mean by "Talk with your hips"? That is incredibly creepy, and whoever thought up those lyrics should have a bar of soap thrown in his mouth until he goes blind, deaf, and mute just like Helen Keller so that he can see just how much he "Talks with his hips".

Clearly all about that Cash,money.

When did this become rap?

That's a toughie.

Lets just say any rap music that considers itself gangster, thug, pimp or anything along those lines.

The music is fucking stupid. A never ending assault on my ears.

The people who use names like A kon and Konvict need to go die in a fire especially.
What a wonderfully insightful comment.
What music do you like then?

Pretty much very rap song I've ever heard.

Message to rappers.

1) Go pick up a guitar.

2) Learn how to play it

3) Write real music
Knowing how to play guitar and how to write music are two completely different things.
If I wanted to be douchey, I'd say go get a piano and learn how to read and write Music.

The users here ignorance towards rap disgusts me(Not just him, most escapists). Yes, well over 95% of rap is commercialized trash that appeals to the stupid kids of our time, but then again, look at what people think rock is. Linkin Park and Atreyu get millions of views and are classified as Rock/Metal, and bands like that make up over 80% of what rock is perceived to be, regardless of them being total trash.

If you people look beyond what they play on the radio you may find some rap you enjoy, I find myself enjoying rappers such as Dalek, Ol' Dirty Bastard, and Snoop Dogg(Common, I know), while still enjoying other artists from other genres as well.. Both sides have their awful music, stop classifying one genera trash because of a few artists awful music. But If you want to continue being ignorant, go ahead.

I already posted here but I just noticed this post so I had to say something, may as well post another song. Someone else has said it, but Bedrock, that is a truly awful song right there.

If you watch one video in this thread, it should be this one. People actually like this....

If you watch a second one, it should be this one. It has some great advice.

i second this :3 since rap is pretty much shallow, empty, pointless and corpratised beyond anything the boybands where XD. i want real music, played by a group of people, ether sounding awesome with the growl of a bass guitar, or about life, both the good and bad.

The amount of people in here who haven't listened to any of the good artists in the genre and dismiss it all as shit make me sick.

That being said.
