Well, I like to draw. Always have. Both digitally with a tablet and the good old pencil and paper. Mostly fantasy/sci-fi and monsters, but sometimes more "deep" stuff, if you can call it that. Some of which actually got sold recently (no sight of any money, though... Still, it makes me very happy that people want to buy my art) :)

Haven't had any inspiration as of late, sadly.

I also play the electric guitar. At some point, I'm gonna try making my own songs.

Recently became interested in wargaming and painting miniatures, but I guess that's considered very nerdy.

I lift weights. That's not really unusual for gamers, It just seems like a lot of people think we're lazy, fat slobs. To be fair, I'm still kind of fat..

I'm a performer, most notably a rapper and performance poet.

Also love musical theater. Though that still fits in nicely with 'nerd' to me.

I do art on the side, though that sort of blends in with games a bit since that's also my job. I also do photography and traveling, enjoy shopping, going to outdoors festivals, and I'm a classical pianist too. But a terrible one.

I have a love for stage musicals. Good music paired with an interesting story just really appeals to me.
I'll also read classic literature on occasion.

I make plastic models? Wait, that doesn't break the mold...

Um... I'm female? That's sorta a hobby of mine, I suppose. Also I'm not (quite) overweight, and have a steady job.

Other than that, I game, program, take care of birds, watch rain fall, watch paint dry, and read online op-eds. Perfectly normal all round. :)

Let me think about it
One specific martial art (don't want to get into details because reasons)
Paintball (I'm a newbie, but I love that game, dammit :D )

Also, not a hobby, but I often help my father to fix heavy farm equipment (my parents are farmers)
There is something quite satisfying in fixing broken things :D

I love watching films and reading, I play the guitar and listen to music. I also have an interest in rock climbing and hiking. I don't know if these are gamer stereotype gaming hobbies but they are all I can think of.

well, i have a few. some minor ones are drawing anime and playing guitar, but my biggest one would probably be the Krav Maga classes i take. that last one seems to do the trick. this isn't really a stereotype breaking "hobby" but i also just tend to avoid any and all forms of World of Warcraft, magic the gathering, and dungeons and dragons. those are pretty big stereotype magnets.

I'm a Black Belt in Karate. I fight competitively in that and fought a few pro MMA fights as well when I was younger. I have my own Dojo so that takes up a lot of my time apart form gaming.

I'm also a big fan of a way of training called crossfit going for my level one instructors course in that come the Autumn.

Damn... So cool...
Okay yeah, that was pretty cool..

I myself a musician as well. Play the Piano and the Viola.

I am an artist but I guess it draws me back to gaming if I say I'm aspiring to be a game artist..

I love improv. It's one of the things that has brought close to a lot of the good friends I have today.
I was thinking something similar. I like to paint but half the time I'm painting, it's a space ork for 40K. Even other arts I'm into like glassblowing involve a lot of the skills (and hand muscles) developed from video gaming. It wont make you a pro but it helps. Martial arts, basketball, cars are also very gamery.
But I have a lot of hobbies and there have got to be a couple that few other gamers are into.
I guess my most stereotype breaking ones would be hair & makeup.

I tend to be a nerd through and through, what with my infatuation with all sorts of nerdy/cult media and my chosen profession/realm of study being computer science...

Does martial arts count? Because I love sparring the hell out of other people. :D
I was wondering that too. I consider martial arts (or any sport really) to be a "gamer" activity. It's the most playful way to stay in shape. But I guess staying in shape at all goes against certain gamer stereotypes.
I have to find another good fight club. Mines been overrun with hipsters and I think they're just masochistic. I consider it a bad fight if I have to yell "why wont you block!" to my partner.

Do you mean bowhunting? That's actually not a thing we do here in the UK (it's illegal as well). I know archery's sort of a solo thing but I feel that a range, beginner courses and a club should be a part of every archer's career, for safety reasons if nothing else.
God no, I'm an animal lover. I have a hard enough time shooting animals in games.
No, I live in a small town with many fields and forests around so I just set up my target in one of those and shoot to my heart's content for a few hours. Believe me, there is no way anyone ever comes through where I shoot. There aren't any clubs around here at all so that's really the only way I can do it. I'm not a competitive sort anyway and you can learn a lot from just watching the pros on youtube.

I wouldn't call it a "hobby," but my job involves a lot of fairly intense physical labor, mostly hauling tools and chunks of scrap metal from place to place. I'm also not well-acquainted with the technical aspects of gaming and computers, which seems to be an anomaly based on some of the discussion's I've seen on this forum.

Cool. Like I said, I have reduced respect for hunters too, why do people still feel the need to kill stuff? Watching good archers is amazing (I've watched and shot with several who've shot for GB) but don't forget that you can't watch/coach yourself. I know quite a few archers who'd be horrified to see a video of themselves! I'm glad you've got a sense of perspective as well, nothing's more troublesome and dangerous than a complete novice who thinks they know what they're doing. Oh, by the way, on the subject of safety, the rules (at least over here) for maximum safe distance for full competitive bows are at least 110 yards from where you shoot (160y if you use a mechanical release aid). I don't know if you care but I do care about safety. A lot.

Well if people consider gamers shy/unsocial/awkward/whatever I'm a stand up comedian although honestly we're some of the nerdiest people alive.
You're a stand up comedian?
That's really cool, how did you get into that?

OP: I enjoy following fashion and celebrity gossip, that's not really common among gamers or people of a nerdy persuasion. Disappointingly.
I don't have many people I can talk to about Fable or the Game of Thrones books that also care about the new Kimye baby.
I have separate outlets for each though so it's not so bad.

I have a similar problem, but one that (to me, at least) is more of a stumbling block. There's no overlap between my friends who like to discuss games, anime, sci fi, Marvel, etc and my friends with whom I can get drunk and go on shenanigans with.

Such a shame, because drunken conversations about those topics would be so wonderful. All my 'nerdy' friends are stereotypically socially awkward.

You got my hopes up there, I thought I had someone to have vapid conversations about unimportant celebrities with!
Boo-urns.

That sucks. All of my friends who are into gaming and whatnot are well up for drunken shenanigans. There's nothing better than going to a pub with a few people and talking about Doctor Who, Game of Thrones and the Internet in general, over many pints.

Try to get your non-nerdy friends into some of the things that interest you? Alternatively, encourage the socially awkward people to leave the house? Or is that just totally not an option?
