Why yes, yes I do.

No other games this year has interested me as much as Halo 4, therefore, it is my GOTY.

SpecOps: The Line, without a doubt. I really liked Dishnored, liked X-COM, but SpecOps was special.

It's unparalleled use of pretty much every single element of the game (and especially game mechanics) to present the brutally critical analysis of modern "realistic" fps and the people who play them.

Isn't it kind of pathetic that many people only seem to be mentioning games that game out in the last few months/weeks? Resident Evil 6? Spec Ops: The Line? Mass Effect 3?

You don't think Diablo 3 was good? (I didn't but I'm sure some people might) What about Journey, don't people think that game's a work of art or something? SSX remains the best sports game series in creation, no? How about the release of Minecraft? Don't people think The Walking Dead is the last word in casual gamer dope? Sleeping dogs?
Didn't ME3 come out like in February or something? Before Diablo, that's for sure. Sleeping Dogs just came out like a month ago and Walking Dead isn't even completely out yet.

OT: The Walking Dead for me. While the technical problems annoy me to no avail, and the gameplay had no challenge and overall some of the actual gameplay was kind of bollocks. But it's the shining example of character-writing. Not necessarily actual story-writing, which is sometimes a tad cumbersome. But there is no better characters and the stories between the characters as there are in The Walking Dead. The fact that they had to write multiple just makes it crazier.

Clementine is now one of my favorite game characters in history. The fact that she is;
1) Not Male
2) Not White
3) Not 20-35 yrs. old
4) Not the main lead
just makes it all the more impressive. What a game. What an experience. Everyone who wants to write ANYTHING that has characters should play this game. It's crazy.

Crusader Kings 2

I've actually played a lot of games I consider fantastic this year but of all of them Crusader Kings 2 is not only the one I've spent the most time with but also the one I suspect I'll be playing most in years to come as well. This is the sort of strategy gem I've little doubt will still be enjoyed and talked about for a long time to come.
Agreed. CK2 is a monster of a game.

The Ending might have been a let down but I was really waiting for this game:

Mass Effect 3.

Yet there are two more titles that deserve pointing out:

Borderlands 2 and Mark of the Ninja.

Thanks to the discovery of the mods like SkyRe, it's back to Skyrim again. Borderlands 2 is a close second, with Dishonored following at a very passable third.

Not seen much/any love so far for KoA:R which surprises me a little. I loved that game, such a shame the studio was sold off. Loving XCOM so much at the moment but i'm giving my GOTY to KoA:R.

It's a real tragedy that it's remaining so obscure. It would truly deserve to be critically acclaimed, even if nowadays it's mostly just season for narrative-cinematic games and ironically pixellated indie games, with nothing in-between.

Dishonored, but the year isn't over yet and i've got a feeling Hitman: Absolution is going to kick some major ass in November.

I feel like it's been a pretty weak year so far, but if I had to pick a GOTY right now it'd be Dishonoured. I'm holding out for Assassin's Creed III to blow me away though.

That's kinds of sad, Halo 4 winning your vote by default... because you refuse to consider anything else.

It's winning by default because it's the game I've anticipated the most and the one I'll play the most. Not my fault that no other games this year have been as interesting to me.

Well I suppose I'm inclined to agree with you. 2012 has not been the best year, especially compared to last year that had some smashing stuff:

Team Ico Collection
.Killzone 3
Infamous 2
Motorstorm Apocalypse
.Resistance 3
LittleBigPlanet 2 (M)
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception

.Batman: Arkham City
.Crysis 2 (CD)
Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
.Deus Ex: Human Revolution (CD)
.Hard Reset
.Portal 2
.RAGE
.Red Faction: Armageddon
.Saints Row The Third
.Serious Sam 3: BFE
.The Witcher 2
Warhammer 40k SPACE MARINE

Magicka
Orcs Must Die!
Terraria
Bastion
EYE Divine Cybermancy

But I'm keeping my mind open, November is yet to come.

That'll include Hitman: Absolution, Natural Selection II, Far Cry 3, Assassin's Creed 3

And I didn't discover Saints Row III till September of this year to spite it being a November 2011 release, and I FREAKING LOVE that game, it was everything that I wished GTA4 had been and more.

Hell, so many I haven't played yet, Max Payne 3, Dishonoured, Sleeping Dogs.

Halo 4 is also on my anticipation list... but not very high up.

EDIT: I just had to fill out a Captcha on a forum, that was the "Romney-Ryan" presidential candidacy logo, the question was:

"describe this with any word(s)"

I entered: "ayn rand"

it accepted that response. Mind = blown

I haven't played a whole lot of games that have come out this year, but Torchlight 2 or Borderlands 2 would be my pick so far.

I'd wager on XCOM winning.
Some escapees are delusional, 2012 has been a great year for PC.

Dishonored, Dark Souls[footnote]Feel free to create condescending comments about me as I bought the PC version.[/footnote], Borderlands 2, and XCOM are all contenders for GOTY, but Dishonored wins as it is one of the most fun stealth games I have played in a while.

EDIT- How could I have forgotten Watch Dogs?! That would be an interesting contender for GOTY.

Spec Ops: The Line, Journey, Sleeping Dogs, and Dishonored have been my favorites so far.

For GOTY I'd probably have to give it to Spec Ops just because its such a mindblowing game. Journey was the most beautiful game I've played in a long time, though--like modern art in video game form.

Sleeping Dogs and Dishonored were more standard affairs but incredibly solid ones that I enjoyed greatly.
