I meant to make a submission for this, but it seems I would have been doomed to failure. :) Very well written, and congrats Jans Maeuer, or Frybird whichever.

I like it, nice message and writing. However I found myself chuckling at the excessive use of quotations. If read from a different perspective, this could sound sarcastic or mocking.

EDIT: Feel I should clarify, I was only chuckling because I pictured Dr. Evil reading it in my mind, finger quotations and all.

Very well written and speaks very true what most video game magazines trap themselves into. There is a huge difference when writing about the games(i.e. reviews and sometimes news) and writing about gaming(i.e. interviews with people in the industry, video drama series such as "There Will Be Brawl" and talking about the future of gaming).

Gaming as part of the technological part of our society and how gaming is affected by laws does need more coverage and unless the magazine publisher is willing to send a reporter to capitol hill and reserve space to write about changes in DMCA laws gamers as a community won't see how much of a stake we as consumers actually have in our hobby.

As for the maturity, yeah it is immature to have a top 10 list of boobies. It is sad however that despite adult games isn't exactly part of the American gaming culture we should not dismiss this for better and for worse as completely immature. We do have a long way to go on that and I think we can actually have audiences on the outside understand that when it comes to parts of the human condition can be beneficial. We can't just turn away when it comes to controversy and we must understand from a consumer level that even though we might not like it we have a stake in the success or failure.

I could not agree with you more, Jans. Well said and congratulations on your well deserved victory, you put into words what I could not.
