What Was The Game That Got You Into Gaming?

sadly, my very first memory is of me and my sisters playing atari. I couldn't tell you what game as I was too young, but I remember we had breakout, for sure.

from there we got the NES and I vaguely remember playing Burger Time, Mario 1 and Duck Hunt, and A Boy and His Blob. after that it was SNES, and I actually clearly remember opening the SNES and being upset that it was a family console and not a console for just me.

so basically, I've been into gaming since I was born. I've played since the very beginning and can't mark down a single point in time when I "started" gaming, so to speak. there's not even a point I can mark as when I started to get seriously dedicated to gaming. I'm 22 and I remember playing Mega Man X for hours and hours on end with my cousins on weekends. I would've been 7 or 8, I think? and I was already spending entire weekends devoted to games.

Well... Super Mario Bros 1 when I was little, then A Link To The Past and SF2 got me so addicted my parents pretty much stopped me gaming.

Over the next few years I had a few experiences that were cool, Tomb Raider, Apocalypse, Resident Evil, Doom etc...

When the GTA games came out I wanted to see what all the fuss was about... that certainly got me a little but back into gaming after my dip.

I became a real hardcore gamer again about 3 years ago when I first switched on a mate's 360 and took in the awesome leap forward that was Gears of War.

Now I beg Fallout 3 and Oblivion for my life back...

Either Sonic the Hedgehog or Castle of Illusion starring *sigh* Mickey Mouse for Sega Genesis entered me into gaming.

"Treasuse of Tarmin" on the Intellivision. It's all been downhill from there.
FINALLY, someone else who had an Intellivision! Remember the "Intellivoice?"
No, I never had that at the time. We didn't have many cartridges, only five or six. The two Dungeons & Dragons games were the best, "Tarmin" was one and the other D&D game was great too and even had a sound-based "stealth" element, pretty good for 1981 or whenever the hell it was.

Vectrex owned, too. Pity it was never used to its full potential by any of the games on offer.

I was always into games, I had an atari 2600 when I was 4, although I never had a commodore, I then went through the master system mega drive and snes accordingly.

I had a few years break though and then my next console was a ps1 with time crisis, played that but not seriously.... and then came the rpg's My favourite one for the ps was the first parasite eve, then metal gear and resident evil followed suit.
2600 here as well. Cept those where always casual. I really liked to play, but I liked to run around outside and destroy stuff in the woods just as much. Until the NES came along. After that it was all a long down hill run into obesity and loneliness. At least I still have my Cheerios.
aww man can I have some!!!
Sure thing, mama always taught me to share.

Sonic The Hedgehog, remember creeping down the stairs and watching my old man play it on the megadrive. Good times, he was better back then, before cats and bats got in the fucking way

The first Gameboy with Mario, then Gameboy Colour.

But what really got me into gaming was my first computer game called Star Trek: Rise of the Federation.
I remember getting owned by the NPC's all the time untill I won my first game last year
(with a fair start-no cheating) :/

The AI is still not to be underestimated!
I just wish I had a friend who played the game.

I think it was a combination of super mario world and sonic the hedgehog. One day my dad took me to buy my first console and he asked me super nintendo or sega genesis. In my mind the question was: mario or sonic? Ahh sweet memories.

God I don't think I can remember that far. It was either Crash Bandacoot, Spyro, or Ape Escape. Never beat any of them, but I still got hooked somehow.
