A View to a Kill

It was kinda bad, Christopher Walken hamming it up almost saves the movie.

Since it was Cabin in the Woods, and I had ALREADY seen it (good, not great), I'll go with the movie I saw a day before: Lords of Salem...

Yeah... Just no. I saw House of 1000 and Devil's Rejects both by Rob Zombie, I love them, so I didn't think twice before PURCHASING Lords of Salem (after my girlfriend insisted she wanted to see it, I got her hooked up on Rob Zombie for good it seems...). And in the first few moments of movie I was screaming DAFUQISTHISHSIT?! At the TV screen, my girlfriend was holding tight to me scared as she was (I really don't think she should see this stuff if she gets sacred this easily) and her brother was leaving the room because he had an exam earlier in the morning. What I saw was a handful of cheap nonsense, stuff like "I saw you finally rented that room you're always trying to rent" "no I didn't, there's no one living there" "but I just saw a man in there, he closed the door at me" "no you must be mistaken", and just like a Jedi trick the girl leaves unworried that SOMEONE shut the door on her face in an apartment where no one is supposed to be living in!!!!!!!!! And then there's the scene with that beast that looks like a king kong and whatnot, look, this is not Machete or House of 1000 Corpses, it's not TRYING to be a B-Movie, it tries to be taken seriously, and I'm not the sort of audience that takes this sort of cheap horror moments lightly when it's trying to sell itself seriously...

Star Trek:Into Darkness. It was fairly good I suppose.Never been a fan of Star Trek but both of JJ.Abrams movies were reasonably enjoyable
I purchased Into the Darkness but haven't seen it yet. I saw the other J.J. Abrams movie though and enjoyed it quite a bit. Interesting is, most of my friends who are not HUGE fans of Star Trek (or near enjoyed it at all) truly enjoyed the remakes, I myself am not a fan of the Star Trek tv show, on the other hand ST didn't really take well to the remake heh? Makes me wonder what remakes of, say games, feel like to an audience that never played the originals or didn't like the old ones...

Where the Wild Things Are. I rather enjoyed it. It really felt like I was watching a live-action day dream of a kid. Not to mention the monsters looked freaking perfect.

And no, I didn't enjoy it, in fact it was quite possibly the worst movie I've ever seen.
I feel your pain. I bought it out of a bargain bin for 1.99 and still regret it.

But on topic, Saw Kick-Ass 2 last week, and had a great time, Planning to see World's end tonight or tomorrow.

The latest movie I watched was Welcome to the Punch. As soon as I saw the trailer for it some time ago I knew I had to see it, it has two of my favourite actors in it, on that basis alone it was a must see. I really enjoyed it, even if some plot twists were too predictable.

Pacific Rim (I think at least), and fuck yes I enjoyed it! Not perfect but really fun to watch. They really could have cut about 20 minutes of down time and added some other fights for the other three robots and some character development for the Chinese and Russians...
...before they get offed in the first fight we see them in.
Considering the characters aren't really built up all that much in that down time, nothing really significant would be lost.

Star Trek Into Darkness

I found it boring. I felt like the movie spends way too much time faffing about and Benedict Cumberbatch's Khan left very little impression on me. I stopped watching about an hour and a half into it and instead watched Wrath of Khan again.

Iron Sky.

Space nazis from the moon invade Earth! Seriously, if you can accept the premise of the movie it's hysterical and you can catch it on netflix.

My parent's hidden sex tape. Terrible performances all through i'd say.

Or to be less disturbing, At worlds end. Waited so long for that darned cornetto to appear

Oh right, the last movie I saw in an actual theater was Kick-Ass 2. It was okay. I mean, I don't think it stacks up against the first one. Maybe my brain is burned out from all the gaming. At this point all I'm hopeful for is:
A Hitgirl movie.

Also, I did recently see World War Z. It had interesting locales (and a hot woman with a shaved head) but ultimately I find it lacking when compared to I Am Legend, even with Legend's terrible CGI effects. Will Smith carried that movie, plus it had a dog.

Elysium. Not very good to be honest. I feel like they didn't reply use the cool world they created to good effect. All we see of Elysium is the inside of a building really. Story not very good. Kruger was funny though.

The last movie I saw was Metal Gear Solid 3, hey-oh! (Although, I did really enjoy it).
Heh. Y'know, I've seen MGS3 completed, start to finish, like five or six times now. I've never actually played it. Ditto for MGS4. After having played MGS and MGS2, and merely watching MGS3 and MGS4 being played by someone else... yeah, the MGS games are definitely better experienced as movies.

Anywho...

The last movie I saw was The World's End. It was alright. Of the three Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, and Edgar Wright movies it's probably my least favorite. Even though Edgar Wright didn't have any involvement, I think I also liked Paul a bit more. Granted, that's not to say The World's End was bad - the bar was set ridiculously high. It's probably still the most fun I've had at the theater so far this year.

Oblivion, saw it yesterday when I had nothing to do at home. Thought it was pretty good, certainly a lot better than a certain movie reviewer made it seem.

The new Red Dawn because we couldn't get back into FFXIV last night.

Even Chris Hemsworth couldn't make that movie anything better than god-awful.

At least we made it through that... we got about 10 minutes into the newer Silent Hill movie and switched to Red Dawn. Yes, I tape bad movies to watch when we're bored.

Last film? Well, that'd be Iron Man 3, I guess. I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised by it. I figured it would be "The Iron Man Rises", judging by the immense amounts of grittyness in the trailers, but no!!! It's possibly the most hilarious and snarky movie in the Marvelverse!!! A little bit disappointed with the Mandarin though, but I won't talk more about it or I'd be a walking (well, typing) spoiler.
