I personally think, at some point in our lives, everyone has experienced a moment where they've simply had no choice but to through up their hands and say "I'm out." In gaming, that moment for me came about 8 hours into playing Final Fantasy X-2. I loved the FF series for years prior to this, and I thought the direct precurser to this game, FFX, was fantastic fun to play. But after 8 hours of dealing with FF X-2, I simply decided "No mas. This is the end for me. No more Final Fantasy." The task I call upon all of you for is simply, if you've had such a moment, when you've been forced to give up a great franchise or series you've enjoyed, to share it with us on this thread.

About an hour into Breath of Fire V was all it took for me to want to kill whatever moron decided the series needed an overhaul. :\

I tend to preservere.

I just am starting to feel too subjectively old to game. I feel as though I ought to have 'better' things to do.

Not sure if that makes much sense.

No it does not make sense. By your logic, now that I'm 22, I should should start to subjectively feel too old to play with my Legos, an absurd idea on the grounds the Legos kick ass!

Full Spectrum Warrior: Ten Hammers.

1 hour after it's bought, it goes back from whence it came!

Gave up on Pokemon after Silver/Gold. Those weren't too bad... but then when the next ones came out (leaf green? I think) I realized, its just the same game. Kid starts off in small town. Sets out to capture all pokemon and earn gym badges. He does. The end.

Though I really enjoyed pokemon snap and pokemon stadium for years after that. Pokemon snap is so good!!

Half way through this song:
Think they're a parody? Ha ha ha... Think again.
Give me a fucking medal, I'm a hero for making it that far. >:l

Gaming-wise? An hour into Final Fantasy X.
Just lost interest. Yeah, so maybe I didn't try hard enough - Tidus just killed it for me.

The last boss in sonic 2 eventually made me give up on the game. Only after at least 50 attempts though.

You have to practically nail the Death Egg walker in the crotch, but even then one small miscalculation and you're boned.

I remember that fight driving me nuts when I was a preteen.

Give me twenty fucking medals, I managed to listen to the whole song despite it mixing Screamo and R&B (at least I think it's R&B?) together, the two genres I despise the most.

The only reason I listened to the whole thing though is because I was determined after you wanted a medal for listening to half of it.

I got camped too many times on MW2 and rage quit. It pisses me off when that happens and I don't have the patience to camp in that game <:(

Kudos. I didn't even last 20seconds into that video.

Final Fantasy XII. Kept on playing it, quitting it, then trying to go back in a desperate attempt to get into the game. Had to head all the way to Archades, after backtracking through 3 different fairly big areas. Then passing through another 4 fairly large new areas, with about one scene which wasn't even story related. I finally made it. Got into the Draklor Laboratory, which was another dungeon. I finally gave up, and thought fuck it. Wasn't enough to keep me going. Maybe I'll go back and try again, but I doubt it. That said I didn't give up on the franchise because of it. Move on, try the next game, and I'm glad I did, liked XIII, despite its flaws.

About 30 hours into Final Fantasy XIII. I supposedly got to the part where the game opens up and becomes fun. Unfortunately, the fact that the game takes 30 hours before it gets fun is complete horseshit. I stopped caring.

It looks like one of those games that could be really cool, but I have a feeling that I'd experience a Devil May Cry sized letdown on that one.

MW2 made me say that. But it just keeps pulling me back to the game. (I can't stop playing).

I did have the belief U stick with a series through thick and thin so that you arent just called a fan boy dipping in and out. Then as you say FF X-2 came out. I did complete it out of poor curiosity but that game hurt my soul... i thought FF12 was quite fun though so it made it better.
