What was your very first RPG?

Super Ninja Boy qualified as my first. I think most would find it to be a pretty shitty game, but I'd still go back and play it again. It was Final Fantasy IV meets Double Dragon, which means it had a Co-op mode too.

Followed by Chrono Trigger which is still my # 1 favorite of all time.

Pokemon Yellow when I was around four. I have fond memories of that Christmas.

Other than that, I never really got into RPGs until I played Kingdom Hearts at around eight, and I didn't play turn-based ones (excluding Pokemon) until earlier this year with Lost Odyssey. I had tried one of the Star Ocean games when I was younger but didn't really like it.

Does Jak and Daxter count as an RPG? There seems to be a disagreement between my brother and myself, who says it's more of an action-adventure platformer. Oh well. If that doesn't count then my starting age jumps from 12 to 14 with Final Fantasy X (didn't finish it though. Too many repetitive unskippables whenever I died).

Damn right. That and FF1 and Ultima (can't remember which one) were some of my first RPG's. Pfft...all these scrubs and their Pokemon.

Man, those were the first RPGs I've played too... now I feel old as well, which is weird, since I know I'm not THAT old...

Mostly though, I first played Ultima 4 and FF1 right around the same time...
