What weapons are you proficient with?

Throwing knives, my usual trenchcoat loadout is 24, fighting knives, trenchcoat carries 2 9 1/2 inch battle knives, the punch dagger concealed in one of my belt buckles, any rifle (my favorite being my Remington 7mm mag... God do I love you), pistols, and single action revolvers. I hate the hard trigger pull on most dual actions, sends my accuracy all to hell. I can use most swords but... swords vs. a throwing knife in the eye, I win.

Oh, and poison. HAving extensively studied horticulture and chemistry, I can whip up just about anything I know the chemical name for.

Lastly (seriously) explosives count? thanks to my job I can aquire Semtex in rather large quantities.

Polearms mostly. That sort of extends to creative use of a baseball bat for blocking and whatnot. And I've had a little bit of training with a Sabre, but not enough to count, really.

I can wield a Sabre(barely) I can effectively throw knives, i can use a bow accurately and who can't use a gun or a crossbow its just point and shoot just be careful about recoil and friendly fire.

My shotgun only cost me £630 (cheap for an over/ under), but beside from clay shooting and blasting pigeons I cant afford to do anything else with it. I'd love to go on a proper game shoot, but the sheer snobbery and elitism that some in that area of things have is pretty unbelivable, and the price is totally out of my league. I may be fortunate to wrangle a rediced price on one this season thanks to friends in high places so to speak, but it's unlikely.

And that's before we even get to rifle shooting. Gota be a registered member of a gun club to get a FAC? Yeah that aint gona come cheap. The other alternative is having shooting rights to land, well that puts a lot of people off right there as most people dont own enough land to shoot on, and aint pally with a local farmer who has land they can use.

I've no problem with tight gun laws; I'm in favour of them. Just not in favour of gun laws that make it easy for rich snobby land-owning fuckers to get guns, and near impossible for anyone else. Gun contol shouldnt be wealth related

Well I think the gun laws are ENTIRELY AIMED at making firearms use and ownership as niche and elite as possible. There has always been an incredibly double standard between the rich and "the plebs" having access to guns. THAT is how gun control works in the UK, and beyond legislature the entire establishment seeks to paint firearms as somehow "Perverse" and shameful, laying on the sentiment and NEVER engaging in any dialogue or debate.

I got my AR-15 for $1000 and I only spend 30 cents per round because I reload my own ammo. It can take .223 hunting cartridges or 5.56 NATO rounds so I can just buy what is cheaper. When I don't reload my own a box of 20 is $15-$20. It also doesn't get that hot unless I pop off 15 or so rounds in quick succession. Even then it cools quickly. As for cleaning, it is very simple. I can dissemble it and clean every moving part in about 10 minutes.

My .50bmg rifle is more for sport and fun than for anything practical. It would ruin any animal I shot and takes to long to reload and is to heavy for combat. I love it simply because it makes a big boom and I can nail anything that is within 500 yards with ease. It has a further effective range but I still need practice.

Read all that above Corum, that is barely even the half of it. It could happen where you live, so fight for your right!

And to everyone saying they like fighting with knives: You don't want to get into a protracted fight with a knife, a knife fight is dirty, fast and both parties get hurt badly.

You speak the truth there, friend! Bloody affairs, all around.

Still, if you cant avoid it, best to prepare yourself for some DEEP cuts, take a nice open palm stance, hold your knife POINT UP (that icepick style BS is only useful for a couple of things), and use SMOOTH, fluid motions.

Wyoming is just short of Texas on the redneck scale so you can bet that hyper strict gun laws will be fought tooth and nail by the state and it's people.

Ive spent a good amount of time learning how to use practically any melee weapon. The SCA has taught me both heavy armor combat and fencing. I am best with glaives and quarterstaves, but am also good with knives, katanas, bokken and various farm implements (i got bored and looted my shed). My favorite is probably the hand and half sword, often paired with a shield.
